I didn't mean to cause such a stir about the amount of sims one needs to attend. It was just in my own experience that ..I was told that my third one would probably be my big old graduation day. I agree one can learn a great many things via Academy sims .. I just suppose that since I've been playing around with this since 1997 ..I feel like a coma patient waking up and having to go through the primary stuff again. :)

Not that it isn't fun.. because, again ..who DOESN'T like getting blown up?

Well... there was getting crushed by a tidal wave from nowhere, getting eaten by genetically engineered supersharks, and, of course, falling victim to misplaced engineering sealant while eating a burger.

but if you are skilled in sim-play, can "play well with others," can type well enough to be understood by the players in the room, show an eagerness to play, a willingness to work within the crew and departments

Oh.

There's no plans to make this retroactive, is there?

PS.  It took me about two months of almost nightly sims to graduate.  The beauty of it was I didn't care.   :)

Hey there,

Well, I know of someone who...when I was first in the Academy...had to attend around 156 Academy sims in order to graduate. No, I'm not joking. :)

Hey Fred... I thought you didn't want anyone to know how long it took you to graduate?

Wait... or was that Atragon? ::mutters something:: Oh well.

I love academy sims. Being blown up is quite amusing..And as Loami alluded to...there are so many ways we  cadets have died in sims it's humorous.

When we surrive a mission...it's like...wow..how did that happen!  lol. And by the way nothing wrong with being blown up to anyone new here. It's like the sun setting ...it always happens..don't take it personal.  Most of the time the GM goes down with the ship as well.

Back to my Bland sense of humor:

I am begining to think our beloved STSF GM's have created a cookbook somewhere on how to cook, dice, broil ..etc..Academy paticpants.  It would seem as Ruca  points out correctly...the  most popular way to kill an academy simmers is to blow them up...why is this is the favorite recipe for death? Perhaps ease...but I look forward to in future sims for more creative ends..to my cadet characters. (Still think the Engineering Sealant mislabeled Ketchup is by far the most creative demise of a cadet..That's the one to beat in my books!)

Precip

(soon to be diced to death by some carnivour creature on his next academy  sim)

::hands Moose the Cadets ... 101 ways to serve them up cookbook::  This one sounds interesting -- "De-lish Kebabs: marinated and grilled kebabs served with spicey engineering sealant"    Ooooooooh.  I wonder what kind of wine Alces would recommend?

Boy am I glad I don't like ketchup..but I'll be keeping a close eye on my mustard as well. ;P

I think an awesome way to kill someone off would be... have the entire ship suddenly feel up with jello. We'd just drown in strawberry jello.. what a way to go...

On the Republic, we had an contraband A.I. program that occasionally tries to do just that, but with ...

Toast!!

Worst time, was when it was covered with Grape Jam, and we had to beam them out before they died......

Toast! Evil, evil toast!

What about bagels being shot out of replicators at unsuspecting crew members? Death by bagels.. that'd be a news story. Sad thing is.. I could probably figure out a ton of ways to kill off crew by unusual means ..

Mwah.

I remember once playing a large blob of Jello in the academy.  I think that was the first sim that I ever ate a cadet.  :) They're tastier than they look!  :(

I was told an academy simmer was eaten by a creature Sunday Night...and I misssed it! Darn!

Death by Jello, Bagels?...we dare not give our beloved (should I still use that word?) GMs creative ways to end their sims.

(Soon to be accidently shot out a Photon Torpedo launcher in a horrible accident)

I always knew Grom wanted to sink his teeth into me, although the Panda suit kinda threw me.  Must have been the smell of coconuts that drew him to me.  ::(:

Hey there,

Note to Cadets: Should a giant Panda Bear appear on the screen, calling itself a "Pandarian," shoot it. Don't ask, just shoot it. You'll be thanked later.   :(
