Making Ready For Departure

Making Ready For Departure

Personal Log: Lt. Le Morte,Csci,Sky Harbor Aegis...Computer begin log; Beep...

The word had finally come down through the chain as we had hoped. The Captain had suggested to the Admiral the necessity of further exploration and data gathering and the necessity for a ship adequate for our needs. The preparations had been placed into action shortly after our last meeting in the ready room.

The science department personnel had prepared well and had only a few tweaking's of equipment and space allocations for said equipment. The previous data from Mr.Rileys fighter had been downloaded and gone over as well by my Asci's on the chronitron saturation recorded during the fighters probe of the area of the last known coordinates of the Breen fleet.

The passing few days have availed my staff the opportunity to grab a little much needed rest as well as make preparations for departure. I had not officially briefed my department on the possible upcoming mission...There would be plenty of time for that should the word be given by command. The word was swift as it came over the ship wide comm to the department heads. Sciences dept. completed in record time the allocating and transfer of all necessary equipment including the various probes for data gathering working closely with the engineering teams.

I had finalized the lock down sequence for the labs and entered the lift along with my fellow science department members when the order came over the comm for all personnel listed for duty assignment aboard the Captains new ship rally immediately at docking ring one. The lift proceeded along with only the almost silent gentle whooshing sound noticeable. All equipment had been loaded and verified...all personal gear had been transferred to the new ship. some concerns were noted on space allocated for crew and from what I gather some have stated we would be akin to being "Sardines" stuffed in a container.

The lift came to a halt...My science team and I exited the lift joining the other departments as we all gathered and listened on as the Captain greeted us and began the presentation of the new ship we were all going to be together for some weeks to come. I am relieved the good doctor had the foresight to allocate additional dietary provisions for this trip for me....Well now we will see if we are indeed Sardines in a new Tin Can...Computer end log: Bleep.....
