The Hand of Fate: Plight

The Hand of Fate:

Plight

Ally woke the next morning with a smile; it had been a while since she had a baby and had forgotten how enjoyable they were. She sat up and turned on the vid screen, she was sure there would be news coverage by now. Of course she was right! It was on every channel, she had decided to forgo her hotel room for a space in the basement. A place where hardly anyone went, her hotel contact had helped her get the needed items for their hideout. The accommodations weren’t as nice, but it would do…. For now.

Alison got up and picked up the baby when she heard the door to the stair well open, and then foot steps descend into the basement. “Ally.” It was her boy Gibson; he liked a quick buck like her.

She opened the make shift door to her lodging, “What” she hissed

“There are officers combing the hotel for you, they have been showing your picture everywhere.” Gibson whispered, and then glanced over his shoulder. “They picked up on some scam you pulled on New Las Vegas…”

Alison winced, cursing her luck. She had played some old fart for a fool and made off with most of his life savings… what were the chances of them tracking her down here when she had changed her ID three times since then. “I have to get off Risa; can you get us to a transport?”

He seemed to hesitate for a moment, and then nodded because he knew he was already in deep. He had given her a place to stay in the hotel, a line of credit to gamble with and which guest had the biggest bank accounts. Oh yeah and now kidnapping. “The Ephesian is leaving within the hour, we need to move."
