Question for a STSF

I was wondering if me and my friend could start up a kind of Sim practise thing that we would like to call "Star Trek Academy Study Group. All we would do is go into the holodeck with some new players and practise with them for the academy. we could set our time so it fits around your schedule, like practises 3 times a week around 6:00-7:00 EST,3:00-4:00 PT.

Actually, the Academy sims are the training. :) They train people to be better simmers, and to practice good simming habits.

 

The entire reason for the STSF Academy is to train anyone wanting to join STSF on the do's and do not's of simming. The plan behind the Academy IS to help the simmer, and allow them practice for advanced simulations. So, the Academy actually teaches what to do in the Academy.

 

But, I'm no GM.   :)

The folks at Star Trek.com will be the first to point out that the Holodeck is not for the exclusive use of STSF, though we do have scheduled events there that reserve certain times for our use.  Anyone is free to sim there during non scheduled times.

 

Do be aware, that just because you say you are "practicing" for STSF sims, that you have no right to tell other players who may already be using the room, that they must leave.  The Holodeck is a first come, first serve room (with the exception of those times reserved by STSF on the official schedule).  

 

Feel free to run some practice sims with your friends if the room is unoccupied.  If you get a large enough group, invite them all to come to one of the scheduled academies!  That's how we get our new players!

Firstly, NEMESIS -- please, please, please STOP POSTING IN ALL CAPITALS.  IT'S LIKE YOU'RE SHOUTING AT US.  YOUR COMPUTER HAS A SHIFT KEY FOR A REASON!  Proper punctuation (periods, commas, apostrophes, etc.) wouldn't be a bad idea either.

 

That said, before you accuse someone of "stealing an idea" -- check the post date.  In this case, it's (early June) at least a month before you signed up for the boards (late July).  Or am I taking this way too literally?

 

Oh, and, as for meaning of life, ponder this: people don't wear enough hats.  :wink:

As some people on this board know, I do apologize, but only when I'm wrong (and I'm stubborn, so it's kind of hard to convince me of that).  As you said, I did not you call stupid (sic).  However, whatever I did say may have worked too well, since your posts seem to now have a capital letter content approaching zero.  Next, you might want to try putting periods between your sentences and capitalizing the first letter of the sentence, in addition to the first letter of any proper nouns.  If I really did think you were stupid, I wouldn't bother trying, since I would then think you were incapable of understanding the request.  [seriously, though, it does help the readability of your posts.]

 

1 - I think people having a "badlist" is funny (as long as they don't know who I am IRL, then it might really be scary).

2 - You shouldn't take everything people write so personally.  If you look around the boards, you'll notice that a lot of us make fun of each other all the time.
