The Hand of Fate:

A Change of Destiny

 

Alison had learned from the chatty older ladies who spent their days laying by the pool that the couple was visiting from Earth, that they were scientists and had a what they referred to as a ‘change of life baby’ which was a term she hadn’t heard of but was informed that it was having a baby later in life… hey who was she to judge, right?

 

Alison spent the next week on the beach, trying as best she could to watch them. They seemed to have a routine down, as most people did with babies. She noticed that every other day they went out for lunch with out their baby; a sitter would stay behind during the baby’s nap time. Which didn’t look like a hard job, since she would sit on the deck and sun herself the whole time.

 

Ally watched this same process happen every other day for the rest of the week. She knew she had to strike now or loose her chance. She watched them leave then waited twenty minutes, She slipped in with ease threw the open window of the nursery; she walked over to the bassinet and looked at the infant a sleep inside. She slid her hand under the baby and lifted her up, then placed a slip of paper behind detailing her demands for the return of the baby… “Easy money” she whispered as she exited the Villa.
