Christie Farron

"Past Thoughts"

Oooouuuu - you never suspected this!

=/\= BEGIN =/\=

While sitting in her quarters for a few minutes during a break from Medical duties, Christie began thinking about what her life was as a child. Of course, she was moved around constantly, eventually settling with nice adopted parents, but the thought of when their deaths occurred suddenly caused Christie to stop and think.

Dealing with the Holopatient in Sickbay, Christie remembered encounters as a child with aliens that had emplants, and tried to make everyone just like them. She thought some more. Christie knew that the culprits were not the Borg, as many suspected. Or at least, not the regular Borg. These alien creatures were alive, but never said anything. They appeared to keep in contact with each other through the use of their minds. Perhaps this was a reason she opposed the brain operations going on now.

Of course she opposed them - she killed the holopatient intentionally. She was almost certain the holopatient would die on it's own, but she did not want to take chances, and didn't do things a proper physician should do. For one, the skull and tissue were not oxydized, nor were they properly cleaned before the surgery. Christie suspected, or rather hoped, that the counselor would not notice Christie's lack of proper health care to the holopatient. Luckily, it appears that she didn't. Christie also asked the counselor to get a hypo, which was not necissarily needed (but could be used for a patient's resting purposes) so that she could make a small incision into the holopatient's brain without the conselor seeing. The holopatient was forced to die, and Christie killed it.

But, the holopatient wasn't real. If the time comes that she must operate on real people, she will take proper measures. It is not the first time Farron has deliberately killed holopatients to influence a commanding officer's decision to continue research on something. Often, it worked. But, Christie had never had anyone die under her care. 34 holopatients to date, but never a real human. She plans to keep the number of real humans the same..... as with the holopatients, unless one is needed to [virtually] die.

=/\= END =/\=

More to come later.... probably in the next log. Why is Christie so against this? You'll find out!
