Capt Muon Quark

Burdens of Command

"Vacate the station my lobes!!" Muon hissed to her empty office. She had had enough. She had given Drankum alot of leeway out of respect for his history with Aegis, but no more. Once this situation was resolved, and she was certain it would be, Drankum would have to tow the line before she allowed him back on the station. This "siege" was going to far.

Muon had already ordered security to close down Drankum's Bar and lock up Drankum's quarters. All his assets on the station would be seized and locked up as well. During a State of Emergency and martial law, Muon could seize anything she wanted to.

Sighing heavily, Muon slumped wearily into her desk chair and leaned back, resting her head. Perhaps, she reasoned, there was more to this coup than met the eye. Surely the Ferengi knew the risk they were taking freezing the assets of member homeworlds, attempting to seize the station, and threatening to financially ruin the Cardassians? What in the FCA were they thinking? They risked expulsion from the UFP and where would that leave Muon? She'd be sent back to Ferenginaar, that's where it would leave her.

Was this coup within the Ferengi Trade By-Laws and their codified code of conduct? Muon reached a hand over to her console and quickly sent a message to the diplomatic corps, minus Drankum. Perhaps they could research it and find something. Muon couldn't think of anything off hand but she had alot on her mind right now anyways. If this action was not within the Ferengi Trade By-Laws, Muon didn't know what she would do. Call a Liquidator? ::chuckling::

Was Drankum just a pawn? Did he have any choice in the matter?

What about the Breen? The tugs were due to arrive soon and now that she had over 50 ships surrounding the station, she would have to hold the the tugs at a safe position until this was all resolved. Meanwhile, more information was coming in about the Breen. Clearly something was happening over there. Thank the stars she had Chirakis to help sort through all this stuff. They may not have seen eye to eye in the past on their covert missions, but on running this station they would agree on most things. Admiral Johansen had chosen well.

With the State of Emergency declared, Muon had no choice but to wait for more information. The station and it's people were secure for the time being.......
