Dream a little dream

I saw this and had to post it here. It's a little loony. A bit over the top. But, who here, in the darkest little corners of their hearts, wouldn't love their house/apartment/yurt/whatever to look just like this?

Star Trek Apartment

I saw that awhile ago too. Turns out he couldn't sell it, so I'm not sure what happened to it. And yeah.. a part of me would love to to that, but... how does he sleep? There's no bedroom in there. :)

I'm just wondering about this guy showing up here! It's one thing to be a little weird about ST, but to the point where your wife leaves??? Whats that saying GET A LIFE!

Well ... I personally would prefer an office with a sitting/reading area attachment, with the whole room decked out in Trek memorabilia. An entire house or apartment done in post modern VOY? I'll pass, thanks. I admire the effort, but really, that is a bit too much.

You detract from a house/apartment selling price by making drastic changes such as that VOY house. A new buyer on the market will be turned off by having the prospect of pulling out or leaving the Trek console displays in, just like a buyer would be turned off by a prospective house if there is a bathroom that opens up right into the kitchen, or a kitchen with a rug, etc.

The house might look nice and be a geeks paradise, but unless it sells to another fan or a buyer who just wants the house for the novelty, it's not going to happen.

It's an interesting place, to be sure, but I wouldn't consider anything like it unless I had several million to play around with. I would think the decor would be a bit wearing. Now, as an occasional vacation home, perhaps (hence, the several million to play around with), and maybe somewhere in space would be nice.

Seriously - a few doo-dads here and there, maybe an LCARS interface for my HDTV/Computer setup and some Trek-y appliances like a replicator microwave - but an entire apartment? A bit much, imho.

Well, part of the house like this...maybe. My bedroom would definitely look more like the captain's quarters or something because I'm actually quite partial to my bed. The gues room, however, would look like a brig. And like Chirakis said, a microwave that looked like a replicator would be cool.

Ditto...I would love to have maybe one or two rooms set up like this for my own personal use, so as not to force it on unsuspecting guests. And maybe small elements over the rest of the house like said replicator. That would be cool.

I toyed with the idea of a star trek themed art room or office, I haven't done it yet though. One room is definitely cool like that, but the whole house.. my kids would probably revolt or be revolted either one.

No bedroom--he put in a Transporter Room instead. Maybe if it worked...

He's like Fox Mulder--no bedroom. Of course, Fox was just a TV character.

::repeats that 3 times so she keeps remembering::

I think this is a Cautionary Tale :-)

A warning along the lines of 'There but for the grace of God...and a few extra bucks'

Ok, that SOOO beats out the Dentist with the Star Trek based office, and the Starfleet Uniform clad staff! Oh my goodness! I love Trek, but I don't think I could ever go this far!!! I thought I was pushing it when I almost d/led the LCARS based computer screen background.

Oh and Sam... YEAH, you would, if it were me and Josh coming over! Don't you lie! You know you would because we would be enjoying as much as you do!

'...go I.'

So very true, Annabelle.

He started transforming the apartment after his wife left him when he replaced the refrigerator with a warp coil™.

and went bankrupt
The one bedroom apartment is not cheap at £500,000 (approx $967,000 US) but it does seem like a bargain in comparison to the first time he tried selling it on eBay for over $2 million USD.

Need I say more?
