The Plan - Part 2

Tabor fumed as he made his back to the Flight Ops office. Angel had directed him to see Scherer and find out if a debris field sizable enough to hide two fighters could even be accomplished. While in the Engineer’s office, he had pressed his case for the unusual tactics, but had run into Scherer’s reluctance and Shamor’s outright derision. It was only after Schawnsee arrived, skeptical but at least open minded, that Scherer finally admitted that detonating a transport or a couple of shuttles could produce the debris field necessary for the plan to work.

In Tabor’s opinion, the tactics for crossing the neutral zone as they were being discussed at present lacked any subtlety or finesse and completely underrated the Romulans’ preparedness. That, coupled with Shamor’s blatant grab at usurping what should be a flight crew mission, had just about pushed him over the edge.

Fortunately, by the time Tabor reached Angel in FO, he had regained his composure – somewhat. Angel listened to Tabor’s report and accepted Scherer’s evaluation with a nod. “I’ll take it under advisement, Lieutenant. There may be more happening here than you realize, so I suggest we get on the same page.” And Angel proceeded to lay out the Captain’s plan.
