Kansas Kenickie

A Touch Behind

A Touch Behind

Kansas stepped off the lift and started to walk the decks, she was on her normal patrol. She frowned and kept walking after checking a few doors. The incident that had happened in Security at the beginning of shift was still bothering her.....

When she was in the Main Security office checking her gear for the start of shift - Faldek had entered a short time after her and proceed to smack her on the rear, and made a impertinent comment. What bothered her more was that he was OK with it and thought that she would find it that way as well… that it was funny.

She kepted walking and went over the incident, and became more angrier. His whole demeanor during shift seemed odd, the way he was sneaking around the ship doing something to the computers. Never telling anyone what he was doing… she couldn’t help but become suspicious. It has never been security’s job to install software into the computers on the ship, it has always been Engineerings job.

The more she walked the more she could feel her temper rising. If Faldek was being honest and did want to be with her his actions were the total opposite of what he was saying, first snippy remarks, then blackmail about conduct in the Security office. She had a feeling that it was not a new reaction to not getting his way… Acting out was normal for babies… she should have guessed this was how things were going to go once she started to be social with other people on the ship.

Kansas stopped walking and looked down the hall. She hoped that he wouldn’t force her hand…just because she is a girl doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to fight back. Kansas turned and started back to the lift and continued on her way to the next deck to patrol.

His fist is big but my gun's bigger

He'll find out when I pull the trigger

I'm goin' home, gonna load my shotgun

Wait by the door and light a cigarette

If he wants a fight well now he's got one

And he ain't seen me crazy yet

He slapped my face and he shook me like a rag doll

Don't that sound like a real man

I'm going to show him what a little girls made of

Gunpowder and, Gunpowder and lead

Gunpowder and Lead

Yeah

Artist: Lambert Miranda

Song: Gunpowder And Lead
