Back to Betazed, Pt. 1

Back to Betazed Pt. 1

Note, this was set in Aliana's journey to Betazed for the arrival of her new baby sister. It was set between the 8/8/08 sim, and the 8/15/08 sim.

Aliana hoisted her bag over her shoulder as she stepped of the transport ship. She looked around for a second and then walked towards the shuttle bay. She stepped inside and gave her ticket to the Woman there. The woman then pointed to the third shuttle in the bay. It read The Cairo on it. Aliana walked over to it and climbed in. She sat down next to a woman with a small child. The woman smiled at her and Aliana greeted her and the child with a grin. She watched out the window as it flew over Betazed and away from Dalaria. Soon it begun to swoop down towards another bay. It landed and Aliana waved goodbye to the woman and child while stepping out. She breathed in and grinned. It was great to be home again. She begun to walk towards the transport center, but then stopped.

‘I should just walk. It would be wonderful.’

Aliana turned and checked out and then walked down the road, turning at the third crossroad and begun to walk towards her destination. She smiled and bounced up and down as she walked. She looked at the trees, flowers, and other fauna as she walked. The shade mixed with sunlight made it pleasant to stroll down the path. She passed a stream and a group of children playing ball. They waved to her as she passed and she waved back. After thirty minutes of walking she stopped. She had just turned a corner and was now faced with a beautiful lake. “Lake Norala,” she murmured under her breath. “It is even more beautiful then I remembered.”

She begun to walk again, walking under the covering of trees by the lake. Soon a beautiful house came into view. It was rather large and had very intricate windows and doors. It was surrounded by an enormous garden and many blooming trees surrounded it. She smiled as she looked at it and begun to pick up her pace.

Soon she was walking up the path to the house. She opened the gate and walked through the beautiful garden to the front door. She opened the door quietly and closed it with the smallest noise possible. She began to tiptoe through the front area towards the white staircase. She began to climb up the stairs, but suddenly a cry echoed through the area and someone pulled her down from the stairs and into a tight hug. Someone else also began to hug her, and to add to it a cat jumped onto her visible shoulder and began to rub its head on her face. She laughed and hugged them back. She then untangled herself from them and grinned. Her mother and father beamed at her and kissed her on the cheek.

“We wondered if we even had a daughter,” said her mother with a smile.

“Oh you do, just a very sneaky one,” Aliana said laughing as she said it.

She looked at her parents, and saw that they hadn’t changed much. Her mother and father were both still extremely tall and their hair had only a slight tint of grey to it. Her mother’s spots were as light as ever, and her father had that look of laughter to his eyes. Her cat jumped off of her and trotted away. Her cat, Nilla, named after one of her best friends, had beautiful black fur, with white and orange spots. Her tail was held erect as she pranced off and her dark noise looked beautiful with her dark, dark eyes.

“Is grandmamma here yet?”

“Not yet, but she should be arriving soon, with her husband and your cousins in tow. Your aunts and uncles are also coming and so is your niece.”

“It’s times like these that I enjoy our large house,” her father said with a grin.

Aliana was climbing the stairs to the 2nd floor, where her room was. She opened the door and looked around. It had been cleaned and the windows were open to air it out. Her bookshelf was empty and her dresser untouched, but she still recognized it all. She grinned and dropped her bag on the window seat. She spun around and stopped. She then walked over to her desk with her communications window.

“Open message to Lillian Belar and Leilani Feretti, Sky Harbor Aegis. From Aliana Lucindak. Begin message.

“Hi Leilani, Lillian. I have just arrived on Betazed. It only took me one day, so I most likely have 4 days to be here before catching the next transport back. Betazed is blooming and beautiful right now. I wish you could see it. I am thinking of stopping by Madara city. Is there anything either of you want me to pick up? I can’t wait to see my new little sister! I will send you some pictures once I get some. How are things on the Aegis? Well I better get going, I have to unpack and get something to eat. Ta-Ta! End message. Computer send message.”

Aliana grinned and looked back around her room. Then she got up, stretched and grabbed her bag.

Aliana was tromping downstairs after unpacking when she heard a loud voice.

“Aliana! Darling! It is so good to see you again! How is that post on the… Agree is it?”

“Hi Grandmamma. It is actually Aegis and it is going well. Well other then the fact that I almost was killed a few weeks ago.”

“Killed! My God! That is unacceptable, simply unacceptable! I demand you are reassigned to a safer post.”

“But Grandmamma, it is… a safe post as post’s go. I swear I will not get killed.”

“Hummff. Well be a dear and take my things upstairs.”

“Yes Grandmamma.”

Aliana tugged the large bag up the stairs smiling in her amusement. She dropped it off in one of the guest rooms and then went back downstairs. She entered the living room just as her Grandmamma was finished talking about her new cat.

“--such a darling. Well, when do you plan on feeding us? I have not made the long journey from Trill just to be starved.”

“Well Mother, I was planning on serving dinner when the others get here. Granted Aunt Jerisa won’t be here until tomorrow but--”

“Well, they can just join us when we are done!”

“Mother this is my house and I do the arrangements.”

“Fine. But if I die from starvation it won’t be my fault, now will it?”

“Grandmamma, would you like some fruit,” Aliana said, cutting in before her mother got into another argument.

“Indeed I would child,” her Grandmamma said. “Now that’s how you do it,” she said to Aliana Mother.

Aliana left the room just as her mother began to say a few words to her Grandmamma.

‘Yep. The same as always.’
