Games for European based players

I am based in Europe, England, but I would very much like to get involved with Star Trek roleplaying. I am a big rolepayer, who enjoys different forms of roleplaying, but I must say roleplaying within the context of the trek universe is very appealing. Having looked at the schedule for games each day, they all seem to be set at times when most europeans will be asleep in dream land.

So my question is, will there be (or are there) any games that are at healthy times for european based players? What can I expect as a player based in the UK ?

Thanks in advance!

We've brought this subject up before.

What, When, and Where for an International Sim

Some people seemed interested in having a more Euro-centric scheduled sim but there was no host willing to lead the effort and it went nowhere. We have a number of players outside the Americas who simply deal with the odd schedule.

You might want to check out the message board sim based off the Excalibur sim.

Hi Orb and welcome to STSF. Wicked cool RPG site to game on.

The "Excalibur: Lower Decks" will be a message board only offshoot game of the Excalibur where character logs are posted and continue the storyline. There are no regular weekly meeting times in the live chat. Lower Decks missions will run parallel to whatever plot is ongoing for the Excalibur, but Lower Decks will still be separate. The focus is on enlisted and non commissioned officers only.

Information here: http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showforum=77 on all things Lower Decks

It should be the perfect setting for Euro players, we hope, or a so called regular time zone player who simply can't commit to a weekly chat meeting. The full game launch/application process will start at some point in the future. There is a blurb in the primer document that the Decks game will only accept STSF players who are graduates of the academy, have been on a game for 6 months, or hold a junior grade el tee rank for 3 months on one of the established games. We also plan on going with the case by case option where needed if a player doesn't necessarily meet all these "requirements" to join the Decks.

Contact the Excal command staff: Captain Corizon or Cmdr Left Ear JoNs with any questions.

Hey there,

Please remember that Lower Decks is restricted to individuals who have graduated from the Academy and been on an advanced sim for a period of six months. As a result, I'm not certain it would be the solution you are looking for...

Hello, WhisperingOrb. Yes, European-friendly times have been mentioned and discussed on several occasions. I know we have a handful of advanced players in various spots around the globe: some in Europe, some in Asia. At the moment we have nothing that does not entail rising at 4am or so to sim. Perhaps on your days off you can try us out - I certainly hope so.

In the meantime, check out our Advanced Sims folder to see what quality of real-time sim we have. Advanced ship sim logs are posted there.

Welcome to STSF!
