"Back Aboard the Ship"

By gods, Fiona had actually done it. She'd summoned... bedside manner! Pop the champagne and call in the reserves, she was going to be a genuine, good doctor yet.

Oh hells, who was she kidding? It was easier to smoothly tell patients what they wanted to hear than to go through wailing. Besides, there was no point alarming Mrs. Robinson until utterly necessary. If things got worse... well... Fiona was fairly certain that she'd instilled a passable sense of "must report back to Sickbay", and then she could get dire.

Meanwhile, Fiona was starting to get curious about the world they were orbiting. The away team seemed to be enjoying themselves -- they'd been gone from the ship long enough -- or else they were getting into trouble.

Either possibility was plausible.

She went over to her monitor, balancing a mug of coffee and padd in one hand. Pulling up the "Hi, Fiona, can you make sure this planet isn't toxically atmosphered?" scans she'd been sent down upon arrival, for the second time, she looked over the limited information which they'd received.

Basic assortment of various Gamma quadrant humanoids in a basic M-class environment. Nothing should have gone particularly wrong in that respect. Really, though, who knew? It was a Republic away team, and things never seemed to go smoothly for them.

She'd know soon enough. Fiona was just hoping when they did know, it wouldn't be under the circumstances of "Hi, fix these wounds." That was always messier than the "happy" away team returns.

And everyone knew Fiona hated messes.
