Thoughts about duty shift

To say a visit to the Bridge was overwhelming was a real understatement. Natalie had been up to the Bridge for the first time, and she was amazed.

It seemed so active. There were so many people from all the different departments and they were all... working together. It was just amazing.

Natalie certainly hadn't expected to see the Bridge after being on the ship such a short time and it was under pleasant circumstances, too! No injuries or anything, too. Just a friendly visit to talk shop with their friends at Science.

Science's chief, Chief Poldara, was very... unique. Natalie hadn't really met anyone like her before. She was very intelligent and good at what she did, she was sure, but she didn't seem entirely friendly. Natalie made a note to herself to maybe have dinner or lunch with -rank- Poldara sometime. Maybe they could become friends!

Then she wasn't sure what was more exciting, meeting the captain or finding out the assignment they needed to work on. Natalie actually got to shake Captain Seiben's hand! It was sort of like meeting a celebrity... though she probably would have the chance to get an autograph later. She laughed to herself at the thought. He probably would have thought that she was insane or something.

They had to basically fix an entire planet! Natalie's head was abuzz with all the ideas... but it was kind of difficult to imagine reoxygenating a whole world. Someone had mentioned basically "tri oxing" the entire atmosphere, but that didn't really sound viable to her. Oh well. She was a doctor, not an atmospheric scientist.

One thing she was hoping to do with her off-duty hours was see if she could get at the mess hall's kitchens. Natalie was a fairly good cook but she hadn't had the chance to cook anything for awhile. She really wanted to, though. She and Gid had talked about maybe making pastries. That would be fun.

Natalie couldn't wait to see what her next duty cycle would bring. If they were lucky, they might have even got to go to Qo'NoS, which she secretly hoped would happen, because not many humans (had any) been to the Klingons' homeworld.

She would certainly see soon enough!
