Jagrissa Honor-Scar was born on her home planet of Cait to an unwed female Caitian by the name of Tarissa and a male Caitian freighter captain by the name of Jagor , both of whom were not considered to be paragons of virtue within Caitian society or any society for that matter. Both of her parents worked as mercenaries, going from transport ship to transport ship or job to job and finding work wherever they could. They also engaged liberally in the black market trading that occurred among the outer colony worlds. Tarissa was very good at forgery, while Jagor was very good at mechanics and "borrowing" things and finding the correct buyers for his goods

After a period of two years, her father chose not to stay to help raise the young kitten, leaving her with her mother and only having sporadic contact with the two of themover the years. Her mother made an attempt to settle down and tried to raise the young Cait, but this situation was not meant to be permanent due to outside factors and influences. Tarissa was in and out of drug rehab throughout her life, constantly struggling with the responsibilities of motherhood and her destructive habits. The mother Caitian eventually succumbed to her vice and sickness a few years ago at the young age of forty five.

From the ages of fourteen through nineteen, Jagrissa unfortunately followed in the footsteps of her biological parents and made her own way within the mercenary world that she was attached to by her established bloodline. She ran with transport crews, mercenary crews, and ground based gangs across the blackness of space and the outer colony worlds of the alpha quadrant. As a result of the various jobs that she participated in and pulled off with the fellow mercenaries she worked with, she started to find more and more work as a pilot, mostly short range transport craft and shuttles and the like. When you wanted to make a quick getaway, it was necessary to have a good pilot you could count on. She was attached to a vehicle jacking crew on Risa when she was picked up by local authorities, and given a choice: be extradited and spend hard time at the maximum security lock up on the world of her birth, or take part in an experimental and accelerated military program for juvenile offenders that prepped them for eventual enrollment into the Starfleet Academy. The young Caitian chose to participate in the training program and would go on to enroll in the fleet academy after being cleared by the program.

Jagrissa's father was eventually killed during a dispute between mercenary factions over payment for a delivered cargo load. The skirmish and resulting death occurred at a seedy cantina located on some godforsaken backwater space station. The intent had been to trade goods, but things went very wrong and very fast. The local military troops assigned to the orbital space station regularly conducted training skirmishes and patrols, so as a result there was always some sort of military presence around the station. Colonial marines had gotten wind of the illegal meeting, raided the tavern, and the leader of the other mercenary team automatically assumed that Jagor had something to do with it. The leader just up and shot Jagor in the head and the male Caitian bled out on the cold gray decking as the remainder of his crew scattered and attempted to evade the authorities. A few personal materials such as star charts that the male Cait owned were forwarded to his daughter, along with a death notice and a data padd containing a visual recording from the absentee father to his daughter. The star charts are in very good shape and printed on sheer flimsy graphite paper rather then the usual data spike or data padd, and came to his daughter stored in a scuffed leather portfolio case. The data recording for the most part is the male Caitian introducing himself to the daughter that he never knew. The young Caitian pilot holds onto the items out of a sense of respect, surprisingly, for the father that she never knew.

Jagrissa, as well as her background, is considered to be the lower class among the Caitian people. Even though she can trace her bloodline to the Shadow Pride clan, as well as the Honorscar tribe, the feline has no formal designation with regard to her last name. Therefore, she took and kept her mothers last name of Honor-Scar. The hyphenated last name differs from the Honorscar non hyphenated tribe designation. The hyphenation indicates that yes, Jagrissa is of the Honorscar tribe, but is of a low born section within that family tribe. Within these modern times, those with no formal last name are no longer persecuted as they were in the past, when tribal affiliations and bloodlines were considered law. Today it was just as common for Caitians to have a formal name, a middle name, and a tribal hyphenation for a third name, or any combination or omission of the three name designations.

Honor-Scar's chosen field of study and service is piloting, per her civilian background. She has been trained to fly shuttlecraft, troop transports, Runabouts, Lancelot Class Fighters, and Gwen Class Heavy Bombers. She minored in flight control operations, but her main area of expertise and concentration remains as a Lancelot fighter class and utility craft support pilot, and this type of posting remains as her primary duty station. Having the reflexes of a feline serves her very well as a pilot, and she can often interpret incoming data and situations and react faster then her humanoid counterparts. Her "Jumper" call sign comes from one of her first pilot training missions while in service to the USS Saratoga. The junior pilot was returning from a courier run in a utility shuttle after delivering updates and supplies to a planetary based refueling station, and the subsequent landing upon her return to the Saratoga was not smooth. The Caitian cadet midshipman, upon the initial touchdown of the craft lost control and jumped the shuttle several times across the decking before coming to a complete stop, causing a few minor dents and scrapes to the utility shuttle in the process. Therefore, the deck crew - who would be the unfortunate crew tasked with repairing the shuttle - christened her as Jumper, and the call sign was born.

The Caitian does have a reputation as a bit of a rogue, eschewing standard orders and mission parameters and using her own methods to complete a piloting objective. In addition, while the feline is a competent pilot, she tends to be a bit loose on the joystick and falls toward the hot dogging pilot category. While hot dogging in itself is not considered unusually disruptive, except to the squadron commander, Jagrissa's hotdogging tends to take on a somewhat feral quality. Depending on the situation, whether it is a close training formation run or a skirmish with a hostile objective, the feline pilot sometimes has trouble distinguishing between when to let loose with her natural born predator instincts or piloting instincts and when to leash these instincts.

In short, Jagrissa Honor-Scar is a low born Caitian with no direct family ties to hold her back, and has a chip on her shoulder a mile wide with an attitude to match. She has made marked improvements already considering her rough upbringing and the unlawful situations that she was exposed to, but she is still her own worst enemy and time will tell if she will mature into a salvageable officer or not.

Psychological Evaluations:

Doctor Tor Saren, Starfleet Juvenile Pre-Program, Lead Physician: Stardate 9712.27:

Jagrissa, by her own admission, was both verbally and psychologically abused by her mother. These incidents were infrequent, but would typically last for intervals of two months or more corresponding with her mother's drug usage. Her mother would go dry, start on the drugs again, and then the cycle would continue. No further information was imparted by the candidate. I'm also fairly confident that there was no physical abuse involved, and the subject does not show the acute or typical symptoms of the physically abused child. She does however suffer from periods of insomnia or nightmares regarding the death of her mother.

I see no reason to exclude Jagrissa Honor-Scar from the juvenile enrollment program, and I clear her for active enrollment.

Doctor Ho Lange, Starfleet Academy, Cadet Psychologist: Stardate 0209.01:

Cadet Honor-Scar has performed above board in her studies, maintaining a grading position within the upper thirty percentile of her class and performing well in squad based and individual based training sessions. She has a keen mind sadly hidden by her combative and feral nature, but I hope that maturity and the daily structure of being an officer in the fleet will even out her rougher personality characteristics

Senior Cadet Honor-Scar is cleared for graduation and active service within the Starfleet.

Doctor James McKinley, Camelot Station Medical Department, On Call Psychologist: Stardate 070825:

Jagrissa Honor-Scar is to be considered too green and unpredictable to maintain command of a flight squadron. For now, she would do well in a squad support position such as a wingman or a utility pilot. Unfortunately, there have been several disciplinary infractions during her service here to the station that have resulted in her demotion several grades as well as a transfer from her original flight squad to another squad within the 28th air wing. In addition, she has been removed from the first string Lancelot pilot rotation and remanded to a utility pilot status. Within this posting, she will be piloting various space craft ranging from shuttles to Runabouts to the Gwen Heavy Bombers, depending on the type of support that her new squad will need. Actually, I find this new job posting encouraging; normally, functioning as a Lancelot pilot with the brutal starfighter to starfighter dog fighting combat that the pilots can engage can bring out the more aggressive tendencies in any pilot, regardless of species. Perhaps this change of posting and taking on the role of a utility support pilot will even out Acting Ensign Honor-Scars more aggressive personality traits.

According to her former squad leader, senior grade Lieutenant Morgan Kendrick, it is quite possible that the Caitian officer may be dead before she reaches the age of thirty. I am hoping that this prophetic statement is not the truth and that Acting Ensign Honor-Scar calms down and keeps her more feral tendencies in check.

She has had a recurrence of her past conditions of insomnia and nightmares, no doubt in direct connection to her stress level. This has not affected her performance of her duties, and therefore I am not authorized to remove her from the duty roster citing medical reasons. I have prescribed a sleeping medication aid to be taken nightly right before her sleep cycle.

Jagrissa Honor-Scar has six more months in her duty cycle before she is rotated off the Camelot station. For now, I clear her to continue her active duties but she will be required to come into the medical offices for regular monitoring.

AMENDMENT: McKinley Recording: Citing a recommendation from her current squad leader, Lieutenant Commander Darjhan Carson, Honor-Scar has been re-instated to the rank of full ensign and placed on starfighter secondary alert status if she is needed as a backup fighter pilot: she will remain in her primary capacity as a utility support pilot however.

Please Note: Jumper is not of the enlisted ranks, and it is important to note that Lower Decks is all about the enlisted and NCO officers. However, since she will be serving as a pilot of the lower decks, rather then a command level departmental officer or a bridge officer, I plan on logging her adventures here.

Thanks,

- Jumper
