It is such a simple phrase, filled with common words and presenting me with the biggest mystery of my career. Federation planet selectively attacked, by Federation weapons. Federation warp trail, leading away to a dead end. Dead end conveniently in the middle of nowhere, yet we find a discarded torpedo casing. This was a lot of smelly fish, but now this eclipses it all. These casings are not something with a number stenciled in or pounded into the metal with a brand. These registry numbers are encoded into the Duranium. They can't be faked for just this sort of reason, we leave our calling cards wherever we go.

 

How can there not be an NCC-31415? The registry listings clearly show up to 31414 and starting again at 31416. Every number, EVERY NUMBER is used... but this one. This goes beyond Black Ops, this may go beyond Fleet Ops and SF Intell. It is the 24th Century, no one person or group has this sort of ability to circumvent all checks and balances. If they do, they are above the law, they make the law - when they see fit.

 

They can bomb a Federation member with impunity.

 

I want to meet them, and bring them to justice.
