"Medical Considerations"

Fiona rearranged a few loose strands of hair into her ponytail, considering her new little project. It'd been... gods... how many years since she'd worked on research of this level of intricacy? Quite a few.

Granted she wasn't having to do much on the research front. The research end of things had already been completed -- mostly -- and now the challenge was putting the research (to which she had dubiously legal access), to hard, definite use. But then again... why else did research get conducted, if not to have use in the "real world"?

The process, and theory behind it, was fairly simple. Using a sample of DNA (which Fiona checked, was indeed on file for Kwai) as a guide, the retrovirus would go into the body and over a period of time, "fix" the DNA that was still lingering and un-Trill. It had been proven to work before; the process was fairly simple.

But the only thing that -- "concerned" was the wrong word.... The only thing she had to be careful not to draw attention to was the illegality of the procedure. Which raised another interesting angle...

Apparently, several years before, there had been some question on the methodology employed during a similar procedure which had also gone against the Eugenics Law. To make things more fun, it had actually occurred on Republic, and Kwai had been involved -- though not as patient. In a little twist of things, the Trill woman had been investigating genetic-cleaning of Captain Kawalas by then chief of sciences Apollo Link. Her records weren't exactly clear as to the outcome, but... this could be very, very interesting.

Perhaps she'd have to speak with the Arbazan. Even if it didn't yield much in the way of scientific enlightenment, it would undoubtedly prove... entertaining.
