Guest Laarell

"Not So Bright"

Cat knocked out. Baby gone bye-bye. Alcohol is bad. Lights are very bright.

That was Laarell's life in a nutshell. Usually things weren't so clear-cut, but this time she was lucky. If "lucky" was the right adjective.

The Boganary were supposedly responsible for the local baby-snatching at Aiesse, and considering they did need all the "luck" they could get in tracking down the Crownstone, well... Laarell frankly hoped that little Snookums' disappearance (or whatever cooing names the kid's fan-club had assigned it) would lead to what would be more than just a wild baby-chase. Even if they did find the kid (because gods knew, they had to go looking for it), it was a... sizable chunk of time they'd be losing. And if they didn't find either a lead or a baby on their little side-junket... it was suffice to say that Laarell would be using Klingon methods of calming herself -- getting a good holodeck program going where she could shoot and smash things...

... and by every dark goddess in the Orion pantheon, had the lights on the Bridge always been so bright? Her headache was managing to get worse, and it was taking all of her self-control not to blame Victria for all her problems. After all, the vamp-leech thing had been at the bar, and could have cut her off, and could have saved her from this hangover.

But then again, it didn't seem that the captain had fared much better. They were wearing similar expressions of "everything sensory hurts" and, frankly, Laarell had a feeling neither of them cared if the rest of the bridge crew noticed.

Note to self. Check that the X.O. isn't going to be a hair away from dying before imbibing in an alien bar. And also make certain that, if this is the case, the C.O. would not also be drinking in said alien bar. Crew tended to get their feelings hurt when both of a ship's commanders were grouchy. And no one wanted that.
