First Contact

 

Duty Log: Eagle,James,T.,Lt., U.S.S Arcadia, Temp. Assignment CIC..

 

The beginning of the away team mission appeared simple and routine with the exception of Captain LoAmi joining the party. The Captain had mentioned his desire for some fresh air and due to his past as a Science officer with noted Archeological experience he did join the team and beamed down to the surface to meet with a certain Doctor he had been knowledgeable of.

 

The data uplinks to Arcadia have been routed to the various departments by my order. The data found there may be of use to the Federation as well as the ship. The away team had been in contact with the medical,science,and engineering dept's. as it pertained to various personnel and equipment.

 

Watching the teams work and explore finding bits and pieces of the estimated 2,000 +/- year old civilization that had occupied this planet designated as Nevuluz,metal shafts apparently placed deep underground and exhibiting possible signs of a previous civilization that was advanced,to what degree is unknown at this time.

 

Sitting in the CC observing the monitor and conversing with the various bridge personnel as they went about their respective duties I had began to think of the Vulcan ambassadorial ship with the long range shuttle that had been dispatched to meet us here for the transfer of my twin children. The holo pictures sent to me by their Vulcan Grand parents spoke volumes. The site of the little girls face stirred memories of my beloved T'Linna as she is the image of her mother. The visage of the male child did invoke images of myself at his age ....Ancestors help him.

 

I had thought about grabbing a cup of Coffee to help ease the time when it happened, A blip appeared on our sensors...No wait multiple blips, Possibly a Thousand vessels had dropped out of warp and were approaching. Advising Captain LoAmi and post Commander Marx contacting the Neveluz Govt. We had been the authorization to make contact with the new visitors rapidly approaching.

 

The order to beam up the AT was given,and once in position Captain LoAmi did order the beaming. We had initially gotten a look at our new visitors as an image appeared on our MVS...The image was not the usual one seen on a regular basis, We all have seen our share of different life forms in our travels...None quite met this species.

 

Post acquisition of a valid comm freq. the Commander of that fleet and I began an opening dialogue...peacefully I hope. The one thing that has definitely caught my attention was the Commanders remark of them returning from their exile to reclaim their planet that may prove to be a delicate diplomatic conference indeed....End Log::Beep:: :D
