I don't know if this has been done before, but I wanted to give it a try anyway. We'll see what it takes to really be nuts about Star Trek. :P

Finish this sentence: You're hard-core Trekkie if...

Word.

... you own at least two sets (any series or season) of Trek DVDs.

(Oh, and no fair posting "I refuse to be labeled a Trekkie so I can't comment in the topic" for you purists out there :-P)

..... If you get your little sister to play star trek with you and if you watch star trek while playing a star trek role-playing game.

Oh and what Kansas and Travis said.

Beat me to it, Travis. :P

You spend more time with the "Random Page" feature on Memory Alpha than you do job-hunting.

AND...

#1. After not running away from that, you agree to meet with said strangers in strange places like Hunt Valley MD, and Las Vegas Nevada for Star Trek Conventions.

#2. You are willing and able to show off your Trekiness by cosplay at said conventions infront of said strangers.

#3. <If you haven't been committed to an asylum by this point.> You are willing to give up Several Months of Salary at said conventions for Pictures with the Stars, Autographs and various Chatchka's from the dealers room. Heading back home with more luggage than you left with only to store these items in a room, never to be touched/opened, until you realize you need to make your next rent payment and attemt to hock these items at your local Pawnshop.. <And yes. I have several of these types of customers but that's for another chat tab>

You start to feel guilty after watching the new version of Battlestar Galactica. Not so much at first, because it's just something to watch on a Friday night...but after you find the DVD box set and watch an entire season in one night/morning and you realize you're in the middle of an emotional affair with another sci-fi series.

You have any or all of the soundtracks on your iPod/Zune/mp3 player of choice. And listen to them while driving

You spend more time at work writing your sim logs than doing actual work.

..Or you pretend your car is a shuttle with you friend, while he is helm and navigation (Driving and GPS) and you control the hailing frequencies (Radio). It makes driving alot more fun :P

(Double post.. it had to be done.)

Okay, so what's the plate say?

Just to come clean ::stands up at the front:: Hi, my name is Atragon and I have a problem...

So, here is a picture of license plates I used to have on my car (and I still have on a shelf somewhere)

I like your plates A9! Patterson, I am East Coast. And A9, the plate says "1 2BEMUP" (One To Beam Up, but I figure Trek fans get the number and letter combo) w00t!

Now, I've had this plate for four years or so. I've had one instance where two ladies pulled up beside me in their car and yelled out "Nice Plate!", and another time, a former boyfriend pulled up beside me to say "Howdy" and "Nice Plate" ( I think the plate got him curious enough to pull up alongside and check out who I was; when we dated, I didn't have the plate or the current car, but was of course a Trek fan)

Other times, it's hysterical because I can look in my rear view mirror and see drivers behind my car in traffic sounding out the plate. Most don't get it and sit there with a confuzzled look on their faces, but one woman sounded it out and then started cracking up, so I knew she got the reference.

Oh good, I am glad I am not the only person who does that.

Oh and kudos to Atragon and Kansas for their rockin' plates! They are officially trek worthy.
