Withdrawal, Pain, Duty, Honour

Withdrawal, Pain, Duty, Honour

Personal Log:Eagle,James,T.,Lt., Tactical Officer U.S.S. Arcadia

The barracks were quite now ,All of the members of the team appeared to finally have succumbed to much needed sleep. Looking at the ceiling Eagle lay in his bunk shivering from the encroaching cold and the residual indications of his withdrawal he had been experiencing.

The pain from the beatings I received from the guards here prior to my being taken to one of those hell holes they refer to as an Ore mine;Coupled with the pain and wounds inflicted to my back and ribs by the guard I refer to as "Pain" may have had an unseen side effect of helping me to focus. The flesh the Doc dressed and wrapped on my ribs does appear to be mending.

The expressions on some of the teams faces speak volumes as to their opinions and the doubts they may harbor as it pertains to me and my ability to remain in the position of senior officer here in this most distressing and horrible place. I have not broken as some might entertain, No to the contrary the recent events we all have been party to has strengthened my resolve and confirm the very oaths we as Star Fleet officers took willingly. The chance of any officer being caught in this kind of dilemma is a possible situation every officer must face.

The key to our continued survival may actually rest in the very orders given to us prior to our being interned in this winter getaway I had referred to sarcastically as "Club Krankie". I have not had the available time to discuss and debrief the team as I had anticipated. I did garner some interesting Intel while in those mines and I am quite sure the team has made some Intel gathering efforts as we were all ordered to do. Easing up from his bunk Eagle wrapped himself in the meger blanket he had. Shuffling over to the pot bellied heating stove he placed another stack of wood and coal in the remaining hot coals and stoked the fire.

Standing by the heater for a few minutes warming his hands and being as quiet as was possible. Looking around the barracks at the team as they slept, deep rest was what he observed , And rightly so...I know they all have been doing their very best as they could just to survive. I will confer with them in the morning before any work detail will commence..Ah yes work detail indeed. I will be talking to our captors most senior officer as well, Commandant Krankie and I shall have a real heart to heart. The Intel in part I was able to get points to he as well as the heart of this all to twisted society . The one thing for certain there will be an understanding on both sides of this gross violation of rights to my team and possibly and end to the very situation some on this planet face from day to day.

Returning to the bunk after insuring the heat would suffice until daybreak Eagle slid onto the bunk slowly...the pain from his wounds biting at him. Looking back the ceiling... I have to find a way as well to get Mr.Riley back into camp as soon as is possible, Preferably unseen or even noticed he was gone. I full well know and have observed the effects of the withdrawal from the "Smoke" on the team and can half understand the effects it has on some and their actions.

The lights from the guard towers swept across the barracks at times showing the ghostly images and shadows as they played against the wall and ceiling. The plan I have been putting together while in my absence is coming clear, Crystal clear. I know my duties and responsibilities, It has been an honour to serve with this team and the ship and Federation we are sworn to uphold and protect. The orders from our Commanding officer are just as clear, and by my ancestors they will be followed.

Closing his eyes Eagle began to finally began to drift off to sleep, The difference this time he was back with his team, back with officers he had come to view not only as close friends and fellow officers, No he had returned to family. The family he has taken an oath to protect and lead and if necessary correct at times...Non the less it is my family and I will be damned if I will permit others to abuse un rightly or hurt any of them as they see fit. The first one who will find out the wages of his errors will be Commandant Krankie at the first opportunity in the morning. I swear to you all this is not over yet...not by a long shot. End Log... :P
