A Return From Hell

 

Personal Log : Tactical Officer: Eagle,James,T.,Lt., U.S.S. Arcadia {Presently interred with the crew from the AT}....

 

 

The light stung at his eyes as the cold set in on his limbs as he exited the mine shaft and proceeded to the waiting hover craft ,Under flanking guards supporting him under his arms. The guards he had come to know as pleasure and pain sneered and spoke in a somewhat cheery tone as they literally drug me to the craft.

 

I was advised of their names upon my indoctrination into that vast dark pit known to those of us there as mining instillation # 113. The names of the guards I eventually did assign only as stated prior;Their faces and demeanor I shall never forget.

 

The guards placed me into the craft, Secured my belt, Transferred their control of the "control device" in my neck to the guards on the craft. The pilot of the craft spoke to the guard "Pain" and motioned him forward as the guard "Pleasure" removed the manacles from around my wrist and ankles.

 

Pleasure placed a warming blanket around my shoulders and proceeded to plug in the connector to a console located behind the co-pilots seat. That will let you get adjusted to the outside environment once again, As he did so he palmed a cigar to me from his side pouch. Take this and use it before you get back he whispered, It will help you .

 

Taking the cigar and accepting the proffered light I inhaled deeply the smoke I had been partaking from at our designated feeding and break intervals afforded to us during the hellish labor those below this damned planets surface. I looked at my guard pleasure with a questioning look, He responded to my look. I have not been a guard all my life, Like you I was pressed into service.

 

The guard pleasure spoke randomly and quickly as he carefully watched the way his counterpart spoke and apparently made some kind of dealing with the pilot of the craft. Pleasure ended our brief exchange with an urgent warning; Remember give what you do not use of this cigar to the pilot as he is ranking officer and will be glad to accept it before you get back to the Gulag.

 

The exchange with the pilot ended abruptly as "Pain" rejoined I and the other guard. Are all the proper code exchanges completed to insure the device to work properly for control transfer he asked. Pleasure nodded in response to Pain's query as he turned blocking my palming of the cigar .

 

Pain looked at pleasure reassuringly and spoke a short line of sarcastic comments as he pointed to the various assortment of scabs and scarring I had managed to receive from my initial questioning from the goons at the camp under the orders of Commandant Krankie as well as those he personally took pride in on the frequent lashing he gave me under the whip.

 

The craft pilot spoke into a comm as we began to dust off. I looked at Pleasure and spoke my final passage to him as we began to move, I will be back my friend and Pain...Sincerely hope I do not. The pilot jammed the thrust as we rocketed to the exit from that place and took a heading for the camp. I can only hope the team is doing as well or better than I have,; I swear I will return to this place with Krankie's guts for my Garters, Pain's eyes for my Tactical ornaments along with his scalp.
