Mission Log

Tabor Nansk, Lt. Jg.

Time. Tabor hung motionless less than 100 meters off the bow of the alien ship and watched the mission clock tick away. He and Ens. Crash had taken the alert fighters out to do what they could against a clearly superior foe and the results were mixed. On the plus side, they were both still alive, the ship had ceased firing on the Reaent, but that was about it. He and Crash's attack runs were futile in terms of causing anything more than an annoyance to the aliens. The ship didn't even bother to return fire on them. If it hadn't been for the weapons from the planet's surface, that ship surely would have continued to pound the Reaent into dust. And that was the bad news. The Reaent was a wreck. And given the fact that she had started out this mission in something less than top form made one wonder how the ship was holding together at all. It was truly a testament to the tenacity of her crew and it was the one thing that gave Tabor's heart joy. He couldn't ask to be aboard a finer ship!

So, while he sat in his little fighter, his anger seethed. There had to be a way to stop this alien ship. There was an opening somewhere. No ship was ever 100% secure behind even the best shielding. So as he hovered during the lull, his mind raced over every schematic of every craft he'd serviced at the academy, straining for a clue, a common weak point that would be applicable to an alien ship the same as a human one. Of one thing he was certain…the battle would continue. It was just a matter of time.
