Re: Report of damage sustained by marine vehicle Belleau Wood

and possible acquisition of Starfleet technology by Axrekravian government

Investigation conducted by Ensigns Archie Phoenix and Jordan Black

The attack on the Belleau Wood resulted in near total vaporization of the shuttle’s aft section (roughly 58% of the shuttle) and heavy damage to the surviving fore section. Cargo transport of debris to Shuttle Bay 1 recovered near-indestructible materials from the aft section -- dilithium crystal, both warp coils, both impulse driver coils, and secondary flight recorder -- as well as hull and deck material torn from the fore section and scattered contents of breached storage lockers. Analysis of the flight recorder’s system monitors was critical in determining the extent of the damage.

Aft section systems vaporized:

warp core reaction chamber, matter injector, both nacelles

impulse engines and fuel pods

inertial dampeners

rear thrusters

rear type IV phaser emitter

rear micro-torpedo launchers and magazines

deflector shield emitter

rear force field emitters

rear sensor arrays

tractor beam emitters

gravity plating

Fore systems damaged though not recovered:

(potentially in Axrekravian possession)

cloak device -- Roughly 12% of the device’s shell was damaged. Interior circuitry appears to have been damaged; the extent of this damage is not clear. The device can be restored to safe functionality with minor repairs. It is unknown whether the device can function without repairs or, if so, what the consequences of its use might be -- more data and analysis is needed.

emergency biobed unit -- Contained an on-board computer programmed with limited medical archives. Both this and the biobed scanner were damaged badly. Though the computer is likely beyond repair, fragments of medical data could potentially be recovered.

storage lockers -- both EVA suit lockers, the medical supply locker, and one weapons locker were undamaged; their contents are potentially in Axrekravian possession. one weapons locker was breached, its contents scattered and recovered by cargo transport. both engineering supply lockers were vaporized along with their contents.

Fore systems undamaged:

(likely in Axrekravian possession)

warp drive’s antimatter injector and antimatter pod (drive was inactive at time of attack)

computer systems -- originally programmed to contain extensive navigational and targeting algorithms; analysis of shuttle maneuvers possible if decrypted

primary flight recorder -- may contain crew reports and/or communications with Arcadia

navigational deflector

four forward thrusters

forward and ventral type IV phaser emitters

two forward micro-torpedo launchers and magazines

forward force field emitters

forward sensors arrays

gravity plating

communications array

In the event of the fore section‘s recovery the Belleau Wood could be rebuilt, utilizing a combination of equipment requisition and industrial replication, in an estimated 8 months.
