Extant Recte Factis Praemia (rewards await right actions)

Extant recte factis praemia

Personal Log : Hilee,Richard,B., Lt.Jg., ISS Manticore : Computer begin recording......

The past few hours have seemed to pass so slowly one might think it were a dream if it were not for the reality of the Admirals body laying in state, Awaiting the funeral and rites he was so deserving of. The Admiral indeed has passed into glory .

I had been awaiting the opportunity for Lt.Commander Faldek to make his move and in doing so reveal his plot against the Admiral and subsequently against the Empire. I did not have to wait long. The code message to all the perceived mutineers was given over the agreed communication link, The Mutiny had been signaled to begin by the one whom had started it all.

I turned my station over to my second as was expected and was presumably on my way to Faldeks quarters to join the other traitorous dogs that had been brought into this most wretched state of affairs. Breaking from the presumed path to Faldeks quarters I entered the nearest TL hoping to both avoid the security devices I know he and my own section chief had throughout the ship, As well as buy a bit of time to contact Imaj and the Captain to possibly remove the Admiral from danger .

Entering the bridge and saluting I heard the chatter coming from both the launch of the torpedoes bearing the deadly gift to the planet below, As well other chatter on the security console . The Commander turned and listened as I related the information to her of the evidence I had been collecting over the preceding days, I had barely finished my brief report as she ordered Commander Precip into action..I was taken back momentarily as he rushed past .

Assuming the security console as ordered I placed the group of recording crystals in the box engineered to decode and forward the recordings to Imaj and Sovak's individual chair consoles. I continued to monitor the console as Precip and his hand picked Enforcer team entered Main security and the actions and statements that did follow. The Commander asked for a situation report , Replying to her query that it did appear Commander Precip and his team had the situation well in hand. The next report from the team was something none of us on the bridge were prepared for.

The Admiral had been assassinated ...The words seemed to fill the room as a knell from a watch tower had sounded. The silence from the announcement was broken as Imaj sounded her fury, A fury not to be dealt lightly with. Looking at the console I was shocked beyond belief..at a complete loss of words to describe the feelings of rage all the while thirsting for blood to be spilled in vengeance for this act of sheer and most foul treachery.

Commander Imaj and Captain Sovak had reviewed the data from the crystals, Swift was the reaction and orders to place the ones named into the brig. The Commander turned and spoke... Apparently my loyalty to both the Empire and this ship has been noted, Promise of reward for my dedication and loyalty is to be forthcoming. I am of course thankful for my hard work and dedication to be rewarded, Finally recognized by the very ones I have been striving to keep safe and above the treachery afoot.

Imaj was livid and rightfully so... I had began to mentally go over the infinite ways and varied techniques I would use to loosen the tongues of the vile prisoners that were now in the brig. Summary execution was by far too easy and painless for those that had carried out this most heinous of deeds. Their reward should be both long and enduring...linked only to the real pain they would feel, The knowledge of being kept barely alive to be an unwilling party in the long torturous sessions that were to come at the leisure of the Bond Mate of our deceased Admiral.

I had answered Imaj as only one could possibly do so given the dire nature of this situation as it had unfolded..." For the Empire, For our Admiral" I issued forth as the pain and rage filled her otherwise beautiful features. The knowledge of what had just occurred washed over me like a wave of hot molten lava. I will make those who have so indignantly struck our Commanding officer down in such an unbefitting way, Not in pitched battle as would have suited his place and Stature..No they simply did this crime the way one would execute a maddened animal, Even worse they killed him as only a coward would...shooting him in the back...he had no warning or way to even prepare for battle.

Looking on at the Captain and Commander Imaj I find my own thoughts bent on the way I may make the ones responsible pay for their actions. I find myself feeling the loss and remorse associated with the loss of the Admiral... The shining jewel of the Emperors crown that had been placed and set if you will as a shining example for others to follow. A jewel not only stolen and spirited away by thieves most foul, No a jewel that has been destroyed. A jewel that shone most brilliantly, Now dark and silent...never more to shine into the darkness. Computer End Log : Bleep.......
