Avatar Concerns: Please Reply

Hey ya'll, I love my current avatar, but my intenret or computer doesn't like me, so it always shows that it can't load the image on the forum boards.

Now, is it just me, or can you see my avatar?

It's just you. (J/k)

No, actually, I can't see it either. It just gives me an "X" in the corner.

I can't see it either ... oh wait -- I would have to select that option to actually VIEW your avatar to see it.  Now the question is; do I want to select that option?  ::(:   Just messin' with ya Garn.  Your avatar comes up a blank box for me as well.

Getting a blank for the image here also.

Might want to check and see if your webhost stopped the remote loading of your Avatar.

Hi...  you are currently linking your avatar from:

http://www1.servethat.com/garnoopy/stsf_ensign4.jpg

I tried accessing your main folder:

http://www1.servethat.com/garnoopy/

and it came back as not found.  So you might want to check to make sure you still have your account with them.

And if ya'll are REALLY good and it's something that would be of interest to folks...  I can enable uploading of avatars to the STSF.net server.   If I do that though...  it becomes available on the regular avatar list and anyone can use it.

Ok, here's my thoughts.

It would be aweasome to be able to just upload my avatar to the STSF system files, but.....

.....the reason I like my avatar is that no one else can use it. It's unique. And if this forum grows, then others will probabaly use it, which takes away from teh whole reason I like it!

Does anyone happen to have, or know of a web hosting service that is really good and will allow me to link an image I upload? Tripod and other big ones won't let me. If you have a hosting service and would be willing to donate 4 KB of space, which is smaller than a small text document, I'd highly appriciate it. Thanks.

OK...  I'm a nice fellow on occasion (I still maintain my reputation as a cruel, mean, evil person though! So no getting any ideas otherwise).  I try to do one nice thing for someone each day.

Guess what?!  YOU'RE THAT LUCKY PERSON!  (wooo hoo!)

If you would like, I'll move the image to the STSF.net server into a location that will not have it read as an available avatar.

E-mail me a copy of the image and I'll post it when I have a chance.  Hopefully ya know my e-mail address.  :(

Hehehe, if that doesn't get my point across, I'll be over tommorow with a sledge hammer to drive it on in.

Yep.  We see ya.  Your avatar should work as long as the STSF.net server is up and running.  :(

I've done too much work in politics.  Should has become a standard part of my vocabulary.  :(

You mentioned a hosting provider. I am helping start one that just came online. We offer a free hosting option which would work, and it requires no advertising. Email me if you would like more information.

Hey there,

Since this topic is well over a month old, dont' think we need to reopen the discussion about a technical problem that was solved long ago. ;)
