Personal Log

Praxx walked into the joint quarters he shared with two other crewmen and collapsed on his bunk letting out a long winded sigh. He felt as though he'd been on duty for three days straight even though in fact it had only been about fourteen hours. They had certainly been an eventful fourteen hours however.

He layed there staring at the bottom of the bunk above him recalling all of the events that had happened in the past half day and found a sense of angry frustration building in his gut...

"Computer, begin recording personal log." He waited a moment for the computer to respond, shifting into a more comfortable position.

"Personal log, Ensign Jaden Praxx

Stardate 0803.13

What a day. I can scarcely believe that the events of the past day were all squeezed into one, admittedly long, fourteen hour shift. We were attacked by unidentified raiders, we recovered our fighters only to find the pilots all dead, their bodies in some bizarre condition, the likes of which I haven't personally seen but from what I've heard, it isn't pretty. Then we found out that the science team we'd left on the HaVorante planet had been taken captive by some faction of Jem'Hadar that had apparently been in stasis for who knows how long and had perceived them as the enemy. I'm just thankful we were able to recover them in short order once the HaVorante representative had clarified the situation to the Jem'Hadar.

I must say I really would have liked to have had the opportunity to go after those raiders that attacked us. We still have absolutely no idea who they were, why they attacked us, or whether or not they are responsible for what happened to our pilots. Those are some questions I would like the answers to. But of course, we had to recover this away team, and I suppose given the conditions that we found them in its a good thing we decided to do that first. Who knows what condition they might have been in if we'd delayed any longer.

The other little mystery we're working on is the ship that we detected very briefly as we were entering the HaVorante system. On the very edge of sensor range, just for a moment, we detected what looked like a vessel engaging something very similar to a cloaking device. To the best of our knowledge, neither the HaVorante nor the Dominion as a whole possesses cloaking technology. So just who the hell was that? and what were they doing here? More questions we don't have any answers to, they seem to be piling up at an alarming rate. Hopefully atleast some of these mysteries will be solved in the days that follow.

Computer end recording and file."
