"A Team Reuniting"

Katherine Swan is being led around my the guards as Ken instructed. She looks from room to room as they pass and asks, "How many folks did you house here at one time? And how many folks were lost?" She turns back from looking into the room and back to the guard as he answered her.

Looking beyond the screen at a place on the wall, Eagle tensed his jaw. He looked at Ken, the words trying to form. "Ken this depicts Genocide, mass genocide, how did you get the video back from your killed operative?"

Ken nods looking at the now blank screen. "Now you see what we had to deal with Mr Eagle." He then turns looking at Eagle's face. "We are just trying to hide so we do not have to go through all this again. The Government has changed."

Malik looked at Thoros, Sam, Doug, and Tom then spoke "Guys, we should go ahead and start our search. It was requested by the Away Team leader." Pilot then turned to check his phaser and he then un-holsters his tricorder. "Let's move, shall we?"

Brian stood with the rest of the survey team and looked around the decaying buildings of the town "I am not sure what we expect to find in the rest of these buildings."

Doug scans with his tricorder attempting to maintain the security lock as order. He didn't want to be the one to first say, 'Umm their gone.'

Tom stands guard outside the building that Eagle and Swan were lastseen going into. Looking over to Kent, "Nervous?"

Sam had her tricorder out and was scanning for any signs of life in the abandoned buildings. She was nervous but excited; this was a much more complicated situation than she had expected when they were assigned to go down the the planet. She looked at Tom. "A little bit. This isn't quite what I thought we were getting into."

Back inside the building Ken moves towards a small cabnet as he answers Mr Eagle He stops and turns to Eagle again. "I can not disclose that Mr. Eagle, but We obtained it." He then turns and moves away from the veiw screen and grabs a glass. "Can I interest you in something to drink?

Eagle speaks up once more, "I understand Ken. What the video recordings portray, is there any other evidence to support this, burial ground, mass grave, the weapons used??" Turning from the view screen and faces Ken. "Water will do, thank you."

Ken poors a glass of water for Eagle and continplates an answer. He walks back to Eagle with the full glass of water not sure *how* to answer, so not saying anything except, "Your water Mr Eagle."

Eagle accepts the water from Ken and continues, 'Ken what concerns me as of this moment is the saftey of my team. It may be a safe bet if you know this data, that others may as well. That might just place my team and I smack dab in the middle of this."

Doug looks at Pilot. "What else is their to look for other than, our other away team."

Pilot looked between Doug and Brian. "I am not sure either Brian. But we will find out." Pilot then moves out scanning with his tricorder towards one of the buildings and moves towards it. Pilot looks at the survey team "I am heading towards this one" Pilot says as he points in that direction.

Brian fell into step beside Malik and dutifully pulled out his tricorder, "I'm concerned." He spoke up.

Pilot replies to Brian. "It is quite understandable Brian. We're all concerned. This is quite dangerous us being secretly in this area of the planet. But we are starfleet this is what we are trained for crazy mission such as this."

"I know what you are saying", Tom replied as he also turns with the team, "Shocking as it may seem, Starfleet isn't always 100% open about everything, sometimes we need to sneak around, and find out what the otherside is actually doing."

Sam chuckled. "It's exciting, I suppose. And we're certainly learning new stuff..." She turned her tricorder in a new direction. "I just wish I knew exactly what we were looking for."

Tom nodded to Kent, keeping watch as she continued to make her scans. "Well, from the messages we have heard from Eagle, they are certainly finding out more behind that wall then we are out here."

Sam shrugged and laughed dryly. "I certainly hope so..."

Doug looks at Brian and says, "I havent scenced any thing, I belive they are ok."

Brian glanced up at the starlit sky and then around at the surounding hills, "That may be, but I think we are hanging it out a little too far." He then looked to Doug, "I honestly think Eagle and Swan are safer than us." Gesturing torward the openess of the place.

Pilot looks at Brian and then towards the openess they were currently in, "You're quite right Brian. And I agree with you on that one."

Doug opens his tricorder looks at the pointed area

Sam also peered at her tricorder. "No life signs, not even any wildlife. A tiny bit of plant life,Prophets, this is eerie."

Back in the rear of the building, Katherine is then lead to a door leading to the outside. A Guard speaks to her politely, "Here you are Maam, there are other buildings out here that may be of interest to you." Kat moves through the doors followed by the guards. She answered, "Thank you sirs," as she walked out. She moves out a bit looking at the skies. She then looks around a corner of the building not noticing that the guards are no longer behind her. "Which building where you speaking of?" She turns seeing she is alone and then turns back spotting the rest of the away team that bebb left behind before. "HELLO!" she yells.

Sam heared the shout behind them and turned, catching sight of Swan some distance away and waved.

Brian, turning to look at who called out, quickly heads over to Katherine, "Nice to see you again, How was the tour?"

Katherine walked towards Brian saying, "It was fine but where is Eagle? Has he come out yet?"

Pilot looks over to see Swan. "Katherine? Where did you come from?" He looks confused.

Tom looked down at his wrist-chronometer, realizing it had been a little while since the outside team had last heard from Eagle. "Servo to Eagle, just checking in to make sure everything is still ok down there." Brian shakes his head negatively.

Back inside the building, Ken finishes off his drink and says, "We have taken every precaution to keep that from happening. We knew you were here long before you found me in the room above. We have centries watching. "

Eagle nods to Ken hearing the com come in from Tom, "If you will excuse me, I have to check in with the team." He then looks at Kens movment, watching him, "Ken I need to determine what else is going on here and I need to make a report for my superiors if we are to assist you."

Ken replies. "Im not certain what type asisitance you could provide." Ken thensets the glass he had for himself down on the counter.

Outside once more the team is working to get answers. Tom, hearing Swan, looks over to where her voice came from, then does a light jog to meet up with her. "Swan, good to see you back, I was just checking in with Eagle to find out your status." Samantha followed Tom as he moved towards Katherine, hoping to find out what was going on?

Katherine makes her way over to the crew. "Maybe we should go look for him I came out of that building over there." Swan points to the now closed backed building.

Doug looks at pilot, "Are you sceencing anything more? I'm not dectecting any life signs other than our away team."

Pilot looks back at Doug. "Not at the moment Doug. I sense no hostilities what so ever."

Brian, looking curiously at Swan and then the building, "And no one escorted you there? You just walked out?"

Doug looks at Swan confused, "How did you get here?"

Sam looked past Katherine at the building she had come out of and turned her tricorder on it.

Katherine points back to the building glancing there then turns back to Brian. "Yes sir I was escorted. I had 3 guards with me. I don't know where they went. Maybe we should go back the way I came out and see if we can find him?"

Tom nodded at Swan's suggestion. "What can you tell us about where you guys went? Does the old man pose a threat to us?"

Pilot replied agreeing with Swan, "That may be a good idea. But everyone stay together. Can't be losing more of you if we are still down 1." Pilot checks his phaser and sets it to high stun then re-holsters it.

Brian walked toward the building indicated by Katherine and then turned, looking back at her, “The guards didn’t tell you anything else, just ‘Thanks for coming and here is the door?’”

“They showed me areas where injured had been taken and other places in the facility.” Katherine responded, “The old man seems nice enough, I don’t think he wants to harm anyone. He did tell eagle to tell you all to stay outside because of the booby traps and all.”

Doug checked the setting on his phaser rifle and stowed it over his shoulder as Samantha nervously made sure her phaser was activated and sitting securely in her holster, preferring to keep her hands free for scanning.

“I came through a door.” Katherine walked over to the building that now showed no door visible. “I know it was here. I came through it.” She looked back at the rest of the away team.

Malik concentrated and sent out a telepathic message to Eagle, **Eagle, Katherine is with us now. Where are you? Are you okay?**. He then looked at Swan and paused a moment before telling her, “I just sent him a telepathic message. Hopefully he gets it and can reply back.”

Inside the bunker, Eagle was amazed at the response from Ken and the nonchalant way he spoke. Eagle replied, “Ken, either we can help set right an injustice, or at least possibly stave off a greater incident developing…Or do you care?”

Brian frowned as he considered Swan’s response, “They are taking a huge chance with releasing you. Unless…they feel perfectly secure that they could handle all of us right here.”

Tom, weary of the words “booby traps”, stopped walking for a moment. “Sam, have you been able to find these hidden doors with any kind of reliability?”

Sam grimaced with frustration, “I was picking up indications of it before, but they weren’t clear. My guess is something in the walls blocks the scans at least partially. I could look for them, but reliability I can’t guarantee.”

Eagle heard Malik’s telepathic message and replied, **I am still in what was referred to as the war room. I am still ok for now. Take caution, you are under surveillance. They do have sentries posted all over apparently…and booby traps.**

As Eagle was concentrating on his telepathic response, Ken responded angrily, “Of course I care, this is my home! I would like to see my children have at least the same if not more than what I have now. But I’m not sure how you can help.” Calming himself, Ken looked curiously at Eagle, “Are you ok? You have and odd look on your face.”

Tom frowned disappointedly with Sam’s reply, “Well, if we can’t detect the opening, I’m not sure that we would find the booby traps either.”

Sam twitched, unhappy at the disappointment she saw from Tom, “I can work on it, sir. A little more time, I might be able to figure something out…”

Brian glanced at Tom, “Or they could be bluffing. We have found no indications of any kind of trap, explosive, power source…Nothing.”

Malik received Eagle’s telepathic response and sent a quick, **Duly noted, Sir** then turned to the away team. “Guys, good news and bad news. Which do you want first?”

Doug looked at Malik, “The bad.”

”Bad news is that sentries are watching us and there are booby traps all around.” Malik responded with a look of displeasure. “The good news is that Eagle is ok for the moment.”

“I came through the building and didn’t see them deactivate anything on our way out.” Katherine started feeling around the wall of the building where she exited from. “There was a small space in a door. I saw the guards open it from the inside. Maybe there will be one here also.”

Tom looked over at Brian, “Good point, but until we were told about the hidden door, we didn’t find that either. I’m not sure the most desirable way to find out if they actually have traps set up is to get hit by one.”

Eagle shook his head as he turned to face Ken in the War room. “I am fine. I am just concerned about my team the way you are about your people. After all, we are responsible for them, are we not?”

“Responsible, yes.” Ken replied, “Maybe you should go to your team. I told you before, unless something foolish was tried, no harm would come to them.” He then motioned to his guards.

“Ken it boils down to trust.” Eagle tried to convince him, “We cannot even begin to help you or your people unless we have your full cooperation.”

Eagle caught Ken’s gaze, “I trusted you. Will you now trust me and return with us to speak with my superiors?”

Brian nodded in reluctant agreement with Tom, “This is really odd. These people aren’t technologically advanced enough to create a dampening field that should do this to our tricorders, and the geologic scans didn’t indicate any of the normal minerals associated with this kind of scanner dispersal.”

Tom turned to look at Katherine, “Unless we can determine how the traps are set, armed, and triggered, it could really be anything that deactivates it. It could be as basic as the guards carrying an isochip that the traps scan for.”

Katherine looked at Tom and then her gaze swept the rest of the away team, “I see. So do we sit here and wait?” She then turned back to the building.

Tom looked back at Brian, “Well, we know that they seemed to have developed the technology for warp travel in an extremely short period of time. That implies that they bought the technology. Could be they did the same with other things as well.”

Doug looked over at Malik, “Are you sure the information is correct? I’m not detecting anything.”

“Doug, it’s a booby trap.” Malik turned to face him, “They are properly well hidden from our tricorders so we can’t set them off.”

Tom called over to Malik and Doug, hearing their discussion, “If Eagle is sending you the information telepathically, we would likely be correct in presuming that he is not under duress, and the information being provided is accurate.”

Brian started fiddling with his tricorder. “You know Tom, Orion smugglers use a sensor dispersion field that looks a lot like what this is…or isn’t showing.”

Malik realized he and Doug were a little ways back from the team and moved quickly over to them, accidentally bumping Katherine.

Doug double checked his tricorder scans as he followed Malik, “Maybe we should have the ship attempt to pinpoint Eagle’s location.”

”Any suggestions on how we might be able to bypass the field, or filter through it?” Tom asked Brian.

Brian chuckled at the question, “If the Syndicate ever found out I told you, they would tear my spinal column out while I was still alive.”

Ken met Eagle’s gaze, “I will come with you to the outside. We shall see about going to your superiors.” He then motioned for Eagle to follow the path that Katherine had taken before.

Eagle turned toward the path, at the same time sending a telepathic message to Malik, **We are on our way out. Ken, their commander, is with me. Secure the area.**

At the same time Doug telepathically suggested to Eagle, “Sir, shall we get the ship to pin point your location?”

Katherine turned and looked at Malik. “You ok?”

Malik looked back at Swan apologetically, “Sorry, was trying to keep up with you guys. Eagle just told me, he and the commander of this place are coming out.”

Eagle made his way up the path, responding to Doug. **I am fine…on my way out.**. He looked back at Ken for a moment. “’And now it begins’. You have nothing to fear from us.”

“We shall see.” Ken replied.
