This shift has been interesting to say the least. First the Lieutenant that gave me a scare, and, oh wait I should elaborate on that (laughs). At the beginning of the shift a poor Lieutenant came in complaining of nausea, so following standard operating procedure I got him on to the Biobed to run some preliminary scans. Once I got him on to the bed he proceeded to throw up onto the floor, I was barely able to dodge the stream of vomit as it came to the floor. After doing some scans I diagnosed him with a case of the flu. I proceeded to give a hypospray filled with a mixture of Acetaminophen, Dextromethorphan, and Phenylephrine to help with his symptoms. After I gave him the shot his life signs went down unexpectedly. I could not figure out a source of the problem. After about a minute or so he vomited again and his life signs returned to normal. He was then able to walk off and return to work. After he left I called a maintenance team to come clean up the mess. They were very efficient in their cleaning of the vomit but very inefficient in getting to sickbay. Though that might have been a side effect of the Yellow Alert that was happening at the time, so I won’t lodge a formal complaint with the Commander. Other than that it has been a normal shift so far. Hopefully we will be informed of the reason to this Yellow Alert.
