At the moment, my screensaver is rather basic: a blank screen. I would love to have a main viewscreen warp field effect. Anyone with Windows will no doubt know of the "Starfield" screensaver that's bundled with it. Of course as all of us Trek fans have seen, simple white dots flying toward you isn't quite "It" when it comes to the warp effect.

 

I've done some basic searching for an improved version, but have so far come up empty for the PC. Has anyone found a good replacement for the basic Starfield, or any other good Trek screensavers?

Set your screen saver to Photos and have it use the Star Trek inspirational pics. That's what I've seen done.

 

As for warp effect, no clue...sorry.

If you have a monitor that was made in the past few years, you probably have a power-saving monitor. In that case, it's probably better to turn the power saving mode on after a few minutes of inactivity (I think it's in the display settings in Windows, in the same box as the screen saver setting) instead of using a screen saver. Screen savers operate the monitor at full power, even though it's not in use.
