I recently encountered one of the outworlder amok time rituals. There is a poisonous parasite plant, ‘mistletoe,’ which is ritually hung in public places. When in proximity to said plants, certain forms of sexual interactions which are usually taboo become acceptable. In addition, mind altering beverages intended to reduce intelligence, perception and inhibitions are served.

 

I was encouraged to attend one of these rituals, sensed its nature, and was able to flee unscathed.
