the recent review(s) of data retrieved from both this ship and our mirror sister ship have confirmed an attack from a Romulan warbird . The attacking warbird was post review of the data found to be from our universe. One D'Deridex class warbird is enough to handle let alone a brace of them.

 

The Romulan ships must be the ones that were as the Captains "Friend" referred to as the ones that had been prepared for the shift when we were drawn into the void ; trapped for a time while they were enabled to make the transition readily into this present realm. They were allowed to enter and begin a campaign of terror as it appears from all the data we have discovered from the other Arcadia and the planet we are in orbit around. The sheer magnitude of total wanton destruction fits the profile of the Romulans when cross referenced with previous records of contact with an inferior race.

 

The puzzlement that has occupied Lt.Cmdr.Marx,as well as Lt.Westler and I have been according to records and data retrieved from the mirror Arcadia the ship was not an exact duplicate of our own. The ship though perceived as a Sovereign class as is this ship, It was fitted with weapons and defensive systems that were standard on Constellation class vessels of a hundred years ago in the Fleet. This was not the only difference found to be of interest. The shields were of a type configured to enable a ship to gain warp travel,They were not designed to go into combat. The weapons on the ship appear to have been configured for a more peaceful application like drilling from an orbital attitude.

 

The damage to the now orbiting hulk of our mirror ship was horribly extensive and debilitating. The data indicated from the scorching from the weapons of the attacker the attack was in all probability so sudden and swift;The ship had little or no time to react. This is most revealing considering the communications we had received from Star Base##113 upon our egress into this universe. The other Arcadia had been ordered here for a diplomatic mission. This place on our Federation charts does not even exist,Not to mention if it did exist in our universe it would be well within the JD of the Star Empire.

 

I have been running tactical queries to the computer and have arrived at a possible conclusion and answer as to why they may have invaded this universe filled with by all data available contains various species that until now have no experience in war or at least on the galactic level. The races may not even evolved locally with any war in their collective histories. Going over the data I had a startleing thought,Should this data lead to a logical end as it presents to so far; This makes perfect logic as to why the Romulans came here. The obvious knee jerk reaction I am sure is to make war on the inhabitants of this place, Yes to conquer and pillage as they are all too well prone to do.

 

The other possibly overlooked reason may even be much more of grave concern. The point this is a universe full of sheep by our standards should be enough..were it not for the lingering thought that has been bothering me all the while. The thought has occurred and the realization has crashed down on me. The Romulans are not here to merely take over by force the various races....Federations in place here. The Romulans I surmise are here for a much greater far reaching design that may well threaten our own universe and the balance there.

 

I must return to duty shortly, Ship tactical offensive and defensive systems have been fully restored. Overall ship status appears to be fully operational. I must see both Lt.Cmdr. Marx,as well as Commander Alces on this matter as it may prove grievous at best. The possibility is so mind numbing and preposterous in the sheer magnitude and scale if permitted to continue may shift the balance of power in both universes for a long time to come. I must give my recommendation to take up pursuit and eliminate the Romulan vessel at all cost,terminate it with extreme prejudice...should we fail to do so may signal a far greater "Prelude to War".
