Ya-nar U'Ri'it

Ahh, motherland!

Right. Roger. Okay. Gotcha.

Well, been at this for a while. Simmed in the Trek 'Verse about four or five years ago, quit because there were a hundred Trek SIMs and only two hundred players. Made for very boring times and many canceled SIMs. The most interesting SIMs were knock-down, drag-out 13-hour marathon sessions because you couldn't rely on your players coming back the next week. I think I'll look forward to operating in my own ship again (no offense to the Academy!) with people that will actually show up each week, haha!

Ya-nar is a bring-the-name-back-but-not-the-humanoid character, so if you recognize the name (for all the old people who remember STSA, I think I brought her on as a human in STSF but not for long, ship died out, we were spending more time in dry dock than out in the open due to lack of players) she's a Cygnian now, no more Kzinti, promise! Not that they would let that in... yeah, be thankful, there was some WEIRD stuff going on back in the day with the Trek SIMs and most of the Captains would let us get away with ANYTHING short of blowing up the ship (however, Jarrod DID let us blow up the ship once... but we promised to fix it and we did!).

So yeah. Chomping at the bit, as it were.

Looking forward to introducing my favorite flawed girlie into the game! See ya soon!

Rachel

::clears throat for standard greeting::

Welcome!

Two things to remember: 1) Any Academy hosted by STSF N'Dak is a guaranteed suicide mission [And that's a direct quote from his signature]. 2) Never compare the GMs to Captains Bligh or Queeg if you want to get graduate sometime before the turn of the century.

That being said, I'd recommend reading: How to sim, as well as: Tips from the Moose

13...hour...sessions? Okay, I simmed with a RPG pen/paper table top group that would to do that. Die hards!

Kzinti are cool, just watch out for the few Caitians we have floating around here. Cat fight! ;-)

Welcome (back) to simming, this is a wicked cool site to RPG on.

13 hour simming-sessions?

::drools::

We should organize something like that... ::ponders::

Yep, and after 13 hours you will be drooling. I RP'd with a pen/paper/tabletop group that did the 13 hour marathon sessions. Noooooooooo. Just No. Nada. Zip. Zilch. No comprende. Not doin' it again. Eeep. There's only so much that caffiene can do.

I like the one hour cut offs employed here at STSF. And a one to three hour simming session might be a better option. ::ponderable::

Definitely. I also used to do 13 hour marathon sessions when I was full time active duty in the AF, with the classic AD&D, and lose an entire day out of my three day break.

Sheesh, I think the longest I've gone is around 6-7 hours on a Saturday D&D fest. That much damaged my brain. I'm still half convinced my friends little brother is actually a halfling.

ROFL, that's so funny.

Love the pic, by the way. Firefly is one of my favorites.

Watch out for those halflings, by the way. They're worse than orcs. >.<

Nevermind guys, sorry.

I suppose this isn't the place for me, after all.

Good luck and happy SIMming!
