"Experientia docet"

"Experientia docet"

Engineers log: Hilee,Richard,B.,Ens., Computer verify and begin log: Beep..

It has happened again, The crystalline ship was right there in front of we on the Chimera, then the next minute gone. All either Commander Faldek, Doug t.,and I could do was watch in disbelief. The rescue away team was now aboard that damnable thing, along with the others it had captured previously.

I had began scanning immediately as well as starting the trials recording device onboard the Chimera to monitor in detail the ships encounters/performance during the simulated war games required for final adjustments and modifications prior to full operational status being approved.

Apparently upon activation of the simulation the entity/ship phased in as was predicted. The next series of events had not been totally predicted, Including the reaction and the attack on the Manticore alone. The beastie literally ignored the Chimera even as we were attempting to gain access into that thing.

The chimera did prove herself overall, however this does not set well given the grave nature of the situation we are facing at this point. I find myself regretting not having the time and equipment to install and setup Multi Phasic Transport capability for this craft. I regret not having enhanced the weapons array a wee bit more, However that was not my call..I was merely an engineer primarily tasked to design and building of the crafts main propulsion and power distribution center.

In retrospection I do see room for improvement on the basic design. The nagging thoughts that now preoccupies my immediate attention are why did the practically fool proof workaround for the power supplied to the holo emitters fail resulting in loss of the simulation. The apparent connection with the simulation and this guest ship, There must be a rave intellect behind this, either in the data routine,or from another source.

Either we have an unknown enemy, or perhaps an unknown first contact with a new and totally new form of life we have never encountered before. Looking at Doug, and the Commander I realize full well where we must return to and get to work repairing the systems that were damaged during the confrontation. I will do as much as is within my power and field of expertise as an engineer to insure the safe return of our fellow crew and to get to the bottom of this .

I remember my Grand father telling me sometimes laddy there are times "Experience is the best teacher"....Experientia docet , Indeed may prove an asset in this venture.

Turning to the engineering console he flipped the switch...Computer end log: Beep.
