Status

Subject : Status

From : Ambassador Joy Five

To : Captain Corizon

Bridge : I slowly pulled the ship out of weapons range (and thus transport range) of our guests’ runabout. We remain drifting with Bajor between us and the station, thus preventing them learning much about us, or us about them. No traffic was spotted in the area of the wormhole, leaving or entering the system, or anywhere else.

Engineering : Lt. Admiran reports we are warp capable, that he believes we could transit the wormhole without a cascading failure sequence, and that weapons and shields status is ‘improving.’ This is not to say anything is near 100%.

Science : Science and Engineering together are working the return problem. In addition to the shield resonance theory I originally proposed, they believe particle emissions from the ‘collar’ blocking device may have played a role. They are considering building a particle release mechanism which produces radiation similar to the collar, and activating it as we again transit the wormhole. I concur that returning to one’s home dimension generally involves duplicating many of the circumstances of the original transition. Investigating collar effects seems prudent. Of course, duplicating collar effect is not apt to result in a smooth transition. I would expect turbulance similar to what we encountered in the last transition.

Lt. Xenatos and the engineering team suggest that a close approach to the wormhole to scan its condition might significantly (44%) increase our chances of a successful transition. They suggest the use of the Scorpiad fighter to perform the recon. I acknowledged this a worthy mission worthy of consideration, but warned that the AT recovery effort might also require use of the fighter.

Medical : Doctor Pilot visited the bridge briefly to examine Ensign T and to exchange status. I briefed him on what I knew. You may wish to touch bases with him on the subject of medical supplies. There may be reason to expedite return.

Security : Ensign T informally discussed the possibility of a recon and rescue mission to recover our away team. As we lack the information available to Victria and your guests, such plans are sketchy at best. I am assuming your own efforts are more advanced. Still, he has expressed earnest enthusiasm and requested that I relay his interest to you.

Morale and Command : I am sensing an impression of disconnect at the department head level and likely below. This may be to some degree my own fault. My own place and tasking would suggest that diplomacy is the most central concern. Thus, I have been shielding your diplomatic meeting from interruptions.

Unfortunately, others might think a badly damaged ship in need of repair important, or the scientific problem of returning home, or the health and care of those wounded in battle. I have promised to pass along to you the status of each department, as has been done above. I have tried to make them aware of what you are working and why, and briefed each department of what I know about the others. Still, a small dose of “the big man is listening and in charge” might be prudent. As I am outside the loop on the security department’s problem, I have been unable to keep others aware of those issues. Thus, many are curious as to the away team’s status, and plans for their return.

I suppose that includes myself.

If I knew the situation and your objective, I might volunteer to play diplomat again, and let you play captain. As is, it might be more prudent for me to remain a placeholder while you fight fires.

Whatever seems advisable. Let me know.

I agree - summary logs are great to get your sim thoughts in order, and help out the other players as well. Nice Joy!

Well, I think some might have noticed that I'm a little biased with regard to Mirror, but...

Sacrilege! To the BOOTH with you!

::Outsider chiming in::

He doesn't like mirror?? Well then, I agree. A visit to the booth might clear that up.

Ha! You mirror kids know nothing of torture. What was the DS9 episode that (in his mind) made OBrien live out his entire life in a tiny jail cell and then murder his best friend? That's torture!

Hook em up to the mind machine and make them sit in a chair for 30 years staring at a giant clock. You'll be begging for the booth!
