"mIS" - Part I

Doctor Garnoopy

Personal Log Stardate 50305.10

“mIS” – Part I of II

Bch was sedated and strapped to a biobed, there was no way she was going anywhere.

“Thank heavens” Garnoopy thought, that HoD was one heck of a pain sometimes, she really needed to learn that a Doctor doesn’t make a suggestion thinking that it will harm the patient. She acted as though the MRF would kill her instead of save her life she was so anxious to get out of it.

He stepped forward, into the center of the room. Rhoz was already up and running, he was a strong Klingon. He had done much to help the HoD and RawI’, and it was obvious that he would survive this ordeal without so much as a mark on his usual Klingon strength and performance.

Watching Rhoz move across the room, Garnoopy realized he had a hypo, and that he was preparing to wake the RawI’.

“Rhoz, don’t wake Kwalas” Garnoopy said. “I need to talk to you…”

FLASH FLASH FLASH

The light was blinding, his hands instinctively flew to his face, trying to cover his eyes. He stood, blinking in the middle of the room, dazed and confused.

He opened his eyes fully, and his vision cleared after a moment. Instantaneously he took in three facts. One, he was in sickbay, that was obvious by the biobeds and the abundance of teal Starfleet uniforms. Two, it was a Galaxy class starship; the layout of sickbay was unmistakable. And three, he had no idea how he got here or what was going on, and by the looks of the rest of the people in sickbay, neither did they.

Everything seemed paused, doctors and nurses, Ensigns and Lieutenants looked around, dazed and confused, not sure what to do. Patients lay on biobeds, unsure of what to say, lights blinked on panels; the red alert color was obvious.

Glancing over at a mirror in sickbay, Garnoopy realized he was a Lieutenant, and he looked around, startled. He had just graduated the medical school, and yet, a Lieutenant? No one else had a higher rank, everyone was lower.

A scream shattered the silence in sickbay. A teen girl lay on a biobed, blood pouring out of several wounds. Instantly, Garnoopy knew action had to be taken, and his training kicked in. He was the highest-ranking officer, he was in charge.

“Everyone who has medical training and can remember it, get to work, NOW.” Garnoopy barked.

Instantly Nurses and Doctors began moving. Grabbing tricorders, scanning patients.

Garnoopy ran over and tapped a panel, the ship was full of wounded, and it was obvious they had been at battle. He tapped the panel again, trying to pull up more info on what was going on, but the computer was not responding like it should. Garnoopy swore.

He whipped around, and knew that everyone was in the same boat he was, not remembering what was going on. They all had the confused scared look. This meant that no one, not a single person in the room had had any field work in their field of medicine, and this was going to be difficult if not near impossible.
