The Science brigade is all around us and throughout the ship. After Doctor Brown made good on his promise to get the ship fixed up, I have allowed his team to work with Lt. Escher and collect the data, findings and body parts from the Manticore. To be honest, I won't be sorry to see those spiders go or, to be especially honest, Dr. Zwicky. I am not happy that he is dead, for I wanted to take him to task for the danger he put us all through. Then again, I can see a certain justice in the fact that his experiment caused us to jump through time which caused him to be too close to those damned spider when they were agitated and not walled off. He was a man who truly lived and died for his work.

As the ship is returned to working order, we are still reeling from the damage it sustained in our time jumps and mourning those who did not survive the mission. Yet a bigger question has to be asked - was it all real? The spiders, as best as I can understand from Doc Brown's ramblings, were manipulating the excessive amounts of Dark Matter near the event horizons of the nebula. It was their "weaving" of the material that allowed us to flow through time and not be destroyed by the spatial forces at work there. Although the damage we perceived in each time zone was actual damage the ship and crew sustained, we would have been destroyed if they had not been here to work their magic. So, was there really an ancient man-of-war called the Manticore? Will there really be futuristic ships that are controlled only by thought and desire? Will we really have to wear white and silver jumpsuits with go-go boots??

I suppose we will never know, but I will be glad to be rid of these scientists, what did Kenicke call them again... Squints? And then we can get back to saving the Galaxy again, one strange mission after another.
