Latest New Voyages Episode

Don't know how many people are aware of Star Trek "New Voyages". It's a fan made series that continuous where TOS left off. It's NOT a bunch of kids with a camcorder in their garage. It's real movie people volunteering their time and equipment to do this.

 

The first 2 episodes were okay...but number 3 that just came out is...wow. I would have to rank it in the top 10 of ANY Trek episode I've seen.

 

It's kinda hard to find the episode online right now since when everyone tried to download it their primary server crashed like a saucer section piloted by a ships counselor, but it's out there. Find it. Watch it.

Kallah is referring to Generations when the Enterprise crashed on Veridian III.

 

However, the crash wasn't her fault anyway because the shockwave knocked the saucer out of orbit. ;)

That aside, I need to look into this new Trek series thing. I've Googled it, and I'll take a closer look at it later. It looks interesting.

Or aka...you do not have to be a commander to wreck/destroy a star ship,just really an attractive counselor... ;)

Actually Troi's rank during Next Gen was Lieutanent Commander, they revealed it in "Chain of Command" when Captain Jellico calls Troi to the carpet and tells here that "his officers will wear proper uniforms on the bridge". When she returnes in a uniform, she has Lieutenant Commanders pips. She was promoted to full Commander when she passed the bridge officers exam later in Next Gen.

 

New Voyages is a very good show. The last three episodes have been awesome. I just saw part one of "Of Gods and Man". The full length movie by the NV crew. If you get a chance google it and watch part one. Great stuff.

Actually Troi's rank during Next Gen was Lieutanent Commander, they revealed it in "Chain of Command" when Captain Jellico calls Troi to the carpet and tells here that "his officers will wear proper uniforms on the bridge". When she returnes in a uniform, she has Lieutenant Commanders pips. She was promoted to full Commander when she passed the bridge officers exam later in Next Gen.

well not to be nit picky (ok that's not true I'm being intentionally nit picky) Troi's rank was revealed well before that. If you recall in the very first episode of the show, "Encounter at Farpoint" she's wearing one of the "Skant" type uniforms and displaying Lt Cmdr pips. Also, in the season 5 episode "Disaster" Chief O'Brien informs Ensign Ro that Counselor Troi "carries the rank of Lieutenant Commander" and is thus the senior officer present on the bridge. "Chain of Command" was in season 6.

Good point. I used Chain of Command as a reference because it's one of my fav episodes. :D
