Incident on the agincourt.

Hello All,

I would Like to aplogize for my unorthodox and cadet like behaviour on the agincourt. While Trying to develop my character and improve my simming, I realise now that I may have crossed the line into acting not as an improving Advanced player, but as a person unworthy to sim on an advanced simulation. I am looking over advanced simulation guidlines and other simulating tips so I will have the "do's and dont's" In my brain at all times and so I will never even remotely not know what Is acceptable on any simulation. I apologize to all those I have dissapointed and even disrupted while Trying to run a fun sim. If consequences mean being booted from STSF, I will exept them. All I ask, although, Is another chance to prove myslef a worthy advanced simulator, even If I may have to go through academy training again. I am sincerely sorry for all of my wrongs and Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

~User Miles_Obrien

After Taking Another look at the log of the chat that the incident occured in, I realize, that in fact, I was NOT playing by the phaser net check game rules. Before I was actually threatened by the marines, I guess I thought I was, So I Took the first swing. Once again, I am sincerely sorry for my actions.

Hi Miles:

I will admit, your character, and you, got a bit carried away during that one sim with the Agincourt Marines and their players, and the phaser net check game rules; roleplaying as a security officer, you should have recognized that they usually de-escalate a situation, not escalate one. Now, if these games were 'real' Trek ships, that type of situation needs to be dealt with. What if Chakotay just up and flipped off Captain Janeway? I'd say he would be in some trouble.

As a result of the situation, going on the fact that JoNs is your Security Chief, I had to roleplay her response. I think everyone, and you, sort of noticed that the Kitty was not pleased with her officers conduct. Another player might have just did a formal memo reprimanding OBrien; JoNs dressed him down, and temporarily demoted him.

These games are not real, but they are set in a fictional Trek universe that has always been big on the characters being responsible for their actions. Just learn as you go along Miles, learn from player and in character roleplaying mistakes, check out the STSF rules section again as you said, and learn from the examples of the Trek heroes that you enjoy watching anyway, and you will be fine simming. No one is really ever "unworthy" to sim - it's all done in good fun for everyone, and a roleplaying community welcomes all players. It does take practice however, and thats why there are academies and advanced sims to participate in. I still find new things to learn as a player on the advanced sims, and as a result, my character grows and matures as well. I couldn't have gotten to this point if my Kansas character didn't have a few run ins with her superiors in game as well, which I learn from. :)

Catch you on the flip side.
