Just for fun how might you do somthing like that?

Just for fun, huh? In your Internet Browser, there should be a Tools or Internet Option menu. Form there you would choose to empty Temporary Internet Files and any offline cache or cookies. Then close the browser, re-open it and try the STSF chat rooms again.

Theres also a button near the bottom of the page that says something about deleting cookies from the site.

No, that's different, actually. That does not clear all of your cookies from your browser, it just removes any cookies placed by our site. In other words, it won't know what postings you've already read, so all threads would show up as new to you. The issue here is the temporary internet files that might be jammed up and keeping the chat rooms from working well.

A bit of information about your system might help:

What browser and version /operating system and version/Java VM and version are you using?

Have you tried a different browser or Java VM version? Did it help?

Do you have any browser plugins or addons installed that might affect Java?

Sometimes different versions of Java aren't "backwards compatible" and an update will interfere with the version already on your system and it becomes corrupted. To fix this, uninstall ALL your Java programs and updates and reload only the most current version.
