Academy Cafe!

I'm hungry, Is there a cafe in the academy? If so, that would make for a great sim place or just an rp outside of the live chats.

Well, it's a holiday, so there aren't many people around. You could hang out and see if anyone's in the chatrooms, but most folks are probably out BBQing or praying for the rain to let up so that they can start the BBQ... ::glances out window at dripping skies::

You are still doing the Agincourt sim today, right?

EDIT: I'm curious as to when you do the variation for the Terran Empire, the ISS Agincourt. Or is that just a joke?

Yes, Agincourt is running - theoretically. If we get enough people, we'll be advancing the plot; if not we'll do something silly. As for the ISS Agincourt, we ran a plotline in the mirror universe last summer. As you can see on our log boards, people do write logs advancing the story even though the plot is technically over. We might be revisiting the mirror at a later date when the current "season" of our plotline is over, but I couldn't say when that would be.

Ah ok. I was just going to observe the sim since i am still in Starfleet academy.

I was asking about the ISS Because i was checking out the boards and saw that thing you click, the mirror, to get to the other page. IMO the terran empire is cool, and I was wondering if that was an option for when I graduate the academy.

Not at present. All our sims take place in the regular Trek universe, but we have quite a variety of options anyway: ENT-era, TOS-era, future-era, Romulan, part-Klingon, a space station, covert op... I mean, a tugboat... You won't be bored, trust me. :-)

I wasn't really hinting towards being bored, I just like being "evil". Besides, Star Trek totally ripped off the "Terran" Empire from StarCraft. Which ship is a tugboat? I'd like to join that one. :)

Only if they had a time machine -- "Mirror, Mirror" aired in 1967. :)

:) Right, I should have checked TOS. That is a TOS episode, right?

Does it feature the TOS crew all Evilish. Mwahaha, evil spock.

O.O The pic of Spock in the alternate universe scares me.

So, if you aren't busy, I'd like to ask what's gonna happen tonight if enough people show up, Kind of like a briefing. Also, the TOS ship is the Arcadia, right? Which one is the tugboat?

Ok, the run-down of those I mentioned earlier is:

ENT- Challenger

TOS - Hood

Future - Agincourt

Romulan - Talon

part-Klingon - Qob/Lakota

Station - Aegis

and "tugboat" is a joke about the Manticore's cover story -- the ship runs a lot of covert/classified missions.

Also, I didn't mention Excalibur, Arcadia, Reaent, or Republic only because they're kinda hard to find a one-word description for. :)

If we get enough players for Agincourt tonight, we'll be picking up where we left off last week: An Away Team is about to beam down to a planet which was once the homeworld of the Gareem, a race in the Perseus Arm. The planet had been attacked and conquered by the Soltans, who infect their victims with a virus which alters them on a genetic level into Soltans. Agincourt was trying to learn more about the Soltans by examining the scene of their most recent attack, but when we arrived at the Gareem Homeworld, we found no life-signs anywhere on the planet, and no Soltan vessels in orbit.

Anything from Voyager itself?

Oh, so (if you watch Voyager) theyre like those ladies who have DNA planteed in plants that when people come across, they get infected with that gene so it looks like they are that race, because the race is originally only women, and they kill the men when they reproduce. ( lol im such a Trekky for a 12 year old)

Not sure what you mean by "from Voyager itself" -- there's nothing in the Delta Quadrant, but except for Challenger, Hood, and Agincourt, all our ships are in that time period, more or less. (Some don't specific an exact time-frame)

Yea, I meant Delta Quadrant, because once again, if you watch Voyager, there was this other federation ship that got there and they were taking advanteage of ghostie thingies to get a better power source to get home.

O btw, i just looked and this thread is now a hot topic, awesome.

Oh, that was the Equinox. It was a two-part episode that ended with the Equinox being destroyed and what was left of her crew joining Voyager. STSF doesn't have anyone in the Delta Quadrant... permanently. Ships have occassionally been tossed out there for a plot or two, but the only ship that's based in another quadrant is the Excalibur, which operates in the Gamma Quadrant.

Perhaps the two of you should step outside or get a room or something.

You are neither helpful nor amusing. Stop trying to derail actual conversation with jokes in poor taste.

Michenberg, I'm definitely one of the Agincourt culprits that keep playing in that Mirror 'verse even after the plot has been done.

Mirror isn't so much about being evil (though this can be a big factor of the whole Mirror 'verse) as a pirate type of mindset - conquer, pillage, seek out danger/adventure, take power, keep that power, trust others as far as they trust you, alliances, and stuff like that. A ship and crew still needs to function/explore during all this - can't be assassinating and going all evil-out, nothing would get done (and like using the Multi Vector Assault Mode on the Agincourt - constant evil would get old very quick).

There's a certain fun attraction to the Mirror Universe, and it doesn't necessarily need to be full on evil.

Welcome to STSF - this is a wicked cool site to game on.

Well thank you.........What shall i call you, Kansas or Jones?

By the way, Micenberg is supposed to be the last name of my cadet character, u can just call me Greg.

I suppose I meant evil like spock with his evil goatee or (if you watched Enterprise) "Trip" with his eye scar.

I like their attitudes where they like yell at each other over small mishaps. I also like the Terran Empire, because that reminds me of StarCraft, who apparently ripped their terran race from TOS.

::inserts shameless plug for his own game::

December 2381--Five years after the Dominion War

In an effort to foster mutuality between the three major powers of the Alpha Quadrant and the Dominion, Camelot Station has been constructed in the Gamma Quadrant. Operated by the Federation with the blessing of the Dominion the station orbits in a system called Avalon and is protected by fleets from all three major powers, led by the USS Excalibur.

But in the depths of the Gamma Quadrant, an ancient evil, lurking for ten thousand years once again reared its head, bringing chaos and disorder to the Dominion.

With the wormhole in operable, and the Dominion falling apart, the crew of the USS Excalibur stands in the eye of the storm, but a new ally has given them hope in their battle against evil.
