Well today is Independence day. I was reading the Gm postings of what is canceled. One of the Gm's wrote that the Tuesday sim for the Academy will be canceled. Does this also mean that today's sim will be canceled?

More likely than not, yes. Usually all sims tend to be cancelled for the day before, of and after the holiday, and is announced on the main page. Unfortunately, A9 is off on holiday to the South Pacific, and forgot about the 4th. Probably drinking mi-ties and wearing a grass skirt.
