I would be pleased to be associated informally with your new department. Members of my Class, including myself, have considerable experience in science, operations and helm on Starfleet ships. None of us have served on a Sovereign before, but we have considerable experience on several Galaxy class ships. While the differences are hardly trivial, I would feel comfortable supporting science projects and providing short term relief at Ops or Helm during routine passages. On the science side, our specialties feature artificial intelligence, cybernetics, electronic security and law. Long service in various science departments has also made us somewhat of generalist as a scientist. We have come to the conclusion that we have not seen everything, though at several points in the past we thought possibly we had.

 

As you may be aware, we are not supposed to allow sentient beings to die. It would be prudent to keep me on the science side in conflict situations. I am aware we are in a war properly authorized under law by civilian command authority. I should be able to perform adequately if I must. It is just that if you have other personnel available, it might be prudent not to stress my design.

 

I fear also I may be called off irregularly on diplomatic duties. Ambassador Semil's call into your meeting might stand as an example.

 

Hopefully, though, I will be of assistance in spite of assorted conflicting Priorities. I have found myself often on the bridge, simply trying to learn the situation and quadrant politics. If I might be of assistance, just let me know.
