"Musings on the Nature of a Chair"

Running a staff meeting, Harper reflected, was rather like herding cats, an analogy which in this company was more apropos than usual. There might be some merit in serving refreshments at future meetings; if nothing else, it would occupy people's mouths. Having to chew and swallow before talking might keep the tension level down. And if that didn't work, something could be slipped in the food...

 

She cut off that train of thought before it ventured any further into the realm of the unethical and the illegal and returned her attention to the matter at hand. Specifically, the three-way argument that was building. And that wasn't even taking into account Prell -- who probably had enough sense to stay out of it until tempers cooled -- and Condacin -- who definitely didn't.

 

Not that she didn't want to hear the fight... discussion... argument... debate. Just that, for the sake of her head, she would rather have it occur at low decibles, and preferably one speaker at a time.

 

Alright, the first order of business was containing the situation. She shot a Look down the table at Odile, hopefully delaying her entry into the fray. Now to sort out the argument already brewing...
