Col. C.E. Harper

USS Agincourt Simlog

The Agincourt has arrived safely at the Gareem colony, which appears undisturbed. Before the Gareem can join their fellows on the planet, though, there is a grim duty to be carried out: attempts to cure the two affected by the Soltan Change have failed. The science and medical staff have not abandoned their search for a cure, however; they discuss ideas even as the Changed ones kin arrive. On a lighter note, shift changes have resulted in new crew on Alpha Shift, and it seems there's some interpersonal tension to be resolved.

TBS: 18 hours

"I am afraid the change is about to speed up. At this time there is no clear path of action. I am awaiting consultation from Science before proceeding." -- Tordai

"Paradox, when you and the chief blueshirts can be spared, I want to call a senior staff meeting. We need to think about what to do next." -- Harper

"Any thoughts on the best way to amplify this slight effect?"

"The stasis seems to have had some effect. But it is minimal, do you think there is any way we could boost the effects? A deeper stasis would endanger the paitient to much...but...I wonder..." -- Merril, Tordai

"I understand the DNA is vital to the survival of the species. If there is some modification to the DNA and it is being caused by a virus, the virus would be the object to attack, would it not? However, if the virus is attacked, there is still the problem of restoring the DNA to the original configuration. This is evident from the medical database." -- Shadow

"Would you like us to give them some pain medication?"

"I... thank you, yes. That would help, I believe. It is... quick, regardless. Can you administer such medication without risking the Change yourselves?"

"Yes... Can you.. release them without risking it?"

"That is the purpose of these. At first we used blades, but... the distance is necessary, though distasteful." -- Day, Evali
