"The Things Who Help"

Tro'NoQ watched as Thing (which was quickly becoming one of his Favorite Things) went to work on their second attacker, slumping back against the MRF's counter as he was struck by the residual effects of Messner's concussion. This was why you didn't wage all-out war on your own crew -- never know when it mind end up coming back to haunt you. He looked around for the Almost-Ice compresses. The other side of the room -- lovely. "Thing," he instructed, wearily, "go get me that box of silver-wrapped objects. Please," he added with a grunt.

The EMH turned, looking for the box of silver-wrapped objects, and Tro gestured towards the box again, shielding his eyes from the increasingly bright light. Was someone turning increasing the room's luminosity, or was it just him?. "There."

He noted the object and begins the game The One used to call "fetch" before brining the box to Tro'NoQ.

Tro nodded, reaching for one of them as he spoke to the computer. "Dim lights." Then, tearing the packet open, he shook the contents until they became properly freezing. "So then, little Thing... are you sure those two are dead?"

Thing went to the second guard and kicked him, noting that the body didn't move He leaned down, extending his knife and made sure the guard was dead. Then, he movesd over to the first and places the hand on the body, extending probes and sending a signal to have its nanoprobes return.

"Now it'll be dead. Or will it be a Borg?" Tro'NoQ asked.

Thing shook his head 'no', being under orders to not assimilate any creature larger than a roach into its collective.

Tro watched the EMH with a compress on his head, and frowned. "So if you're about 1/20th of a Borg... how do you survive?" he asked, more rhetorically than anything, not expecting an answer. "And you're sentient?"

Thing moved over to table next to Tro and put its right hand down onto the table, tapping out in morse code its designation.

Tro'NoQ gave him a funny look, not getting the morse code. "Do you want something?" He reached behind himself, picking up a dermal regenerator.

He shook his head, tapping out, "We must help The One" before noting the confusion on Tro'NoQs face, realizing that this one is also unable to communicate with it.

The qel shook his head, not understanding as the wounds slowly began to diminish. "Now, if they're anything like villains I'm accustomed to handling, they'll undoubtedly try to coax us -- me -- out with tales of torturing our other people. So we need a way that'll prevent that from happening." The holobody went offline, and Thing padded over to the terminal. Tro'NoQ watched the little hand with a smirk, feeling a bit better. "So assuming they're going to figure out something soon... would the transporters work, I wonder?" He began to scheme, pointing out the bottle of bloodworms. "Get me that, won't you?"

The EMH body holo re-engaged, getting the bottle for Tro. He carefully removed the lid of the bottle, reaching and picking one out, smashing it in his teeth a few seconds later. "I'd offer you something, but I don't think you eat." With a sigh, he munched one more of the worms. "Don't worry, Thing. We'll figure out some way we can help."
