Here here!! It wouldn't be a skirt debate if I didn't jump in. I HATE (yes it's a strong word but I will use it) those skirts. TOS and TNG. I mean why in the name of all that is good must we put the ladies in a skirt that they can't even bend over in? It's just not cool. I mean all the TOS ladies look like they are really uncomfortable. Deanna looks like a Trek cheer leader and the men...well don't get me started. Needless to say I will give the women a thumbs up because they took the bad costume decision and made it work because I mean in the end it takes a real women to kick @ss and take names while wearing a mini skirt and go-go boots.

Dang Porter, you tell 'em. Girl Power + Theatre Background = Porter Rant.

Alright, I've seen this topic a few times. I vote voyager. Janeway had balls - she took what she had and used it WHILE sticking to the nearest and dearest of Federation Values. She pretty much embodies the idealism that makes Trek the superior sci-fi that it is. Plus I just enjoyed the ship and it's crew, I do not think Chakotay was useless or jilted by the writers, I saw him as a very important figure to the development of Janeway as a captain and the crew in general. Sure he didn't pop to the forefront a lot, but he's the SECOND officer. Also, consider Ringo Starr...not a flashy drummer by any means, but that guy could lay it down in the studio without a click track...he was a freaking metronome. Same concept with Chakotay. Yes, they did go through many a shuttle, but they went through many a writer too, and that just breeds inconsistensy. Anyway, there is a way more prevalent reason why it's my favorite and I've plugged this concept a few times.

It was my first trek.

Everyone starts out watching SOMETHING and I think most of us latch on to the crew and ship that introduced us to the trek world. Sure I like the other treks, TOS is classic, ENT has a very reminicent feel to it that I really like and we see things come together, TNG is the poppish star trek that everyone knows about, and it's a powerhouse of characters, DS9 shows us the other side of the galaxy. But I got hooked on trek through VOY and it will always have a special place in my heart.

Yes! That's exactly it Sam! My intro to Trek was TOS (re-runs) I like all the incarnations, watch 'em, and enjoy them, but TOS is my show. And I agree with Dr. Matthews - I love the captain that takes the bull by the horns as well. ::returns high five::

That was an especially sad death as well; the character had commented that she wanted to die "in bed, surrounded by family and friends" and then the complete opposite happens. Jadzia is violently attacked and killed by a possessed opponent.

Sad indeed...especially seeing her die...and go to "Becker" as an alternative.

Oh,and TOS,TOS, and did I mention TOS.. :)

THAT is a hard choice to make since there all are great in there own ways-tos was in my mind the best-ok the sets where paper, special effects-cheep looking and some of the make up was too much but with out a budget, stealing from trash for sets and props ---and a studio with problems it was great(ALSO PARAMOUNT cancelled the show every year(NEVER backed up st)
