The Manticore is in orbit around Proxima Centuri, above the Former Lincoln Outpost.  Lincoln was quarantined 10 years ago, after a staged Black Ops "attack by the Romulans" by the USS Aries, with a young Atragon-9 as the XO.  A landing party returned with data from the outpost and a mutated version of the bio-agent that killed all of the outpost's staff.   Two crewmen have died from familiar symptoms, 4 decks apart, even after quarantining both the landing party and a large "clump" of the virus.  Dr. Mele has named our enemy, LSDS for Lincoln Sodium Depletion Syndrome.  There are now some theories that this is related to an entity encountered a century ago by the Enterprise, NCC-1701 and another thinking that this is some sort of swarm of nano-tech devices.  No matter what it is, our time is running short.
