"Drinking Time"

Garnoopy plopped into his office chair, looking through the window to the biobeds, where the three patients rested. Each of them had sustained massive blood loss, and it would be quite some time before they were up and around as they were before all of this.

He signed, and looked at his blank computer screen. There was so much to put into the computer, but he was weary. The rush of adrenalin had been massive, and his body seemed to be out of energy. The last thing he wanted to see or work on was a medical report.

His mind drifted to all three Klingons unconscious on biobeds. Klingons and their bloodwine, if they only knew that when it came to fixing an injury the amount of alcohol in their system could help to define whether they lived or died. Doctors like he had no power to tell them to quit, it was one heck of an addiction, one that Garnoopy could not understand.

From what he had been told, bloodwine was apparently supposed to help relax the body, and most people tended to love it. Garnoopy had never had a taste for it, and since it was required to be completely sober to work on a patient, he had never indulged himself in the massive supply onboard the Lakota.

He tapped his computer screen, and loaded the vital signs of all three patients.

Bch was stable, though had sustained massive blood loss. Thankfully, Rhoz's blood had been injected into her soon enough that her heart hadn't stopped pumping. Rhoz had saved her life, though at this time he didn't know it.

Kwalas was in worse condition, though stable. She had lost more blood than the Bch, and due to the length of time it took to get her the blood she had required it would take her longer to heal and be able to return to duty.

Rhoz, despite not having been injured by the aliens, would be in sickbay for a while. He had given more blood than any patient should be expected to save the life of his HoD and RawI', Garnoopy knew he should be commended for this, for Rhoz would take as long as Kwalas to heal, despite that he had not been abducted or injured.

Garnoopy tapped the computer screen, shutting it down. He ran his hands through his hair and rubbed his face, then sat back in his chair. His muscles were still tense from the rushing around to save lives earlier.

He could head down to the gym, and work off some of the tenseness until he was so exhausted that he collapsed into bed, but that would take him away from the patients who needed him right now. His head glanced around, taking in the familiar sights of his office, and he saw the replicator.

"Klingon bloodwine... relieves tension eh?" he thought. Perhaps it was time Garnoopy developed a taste for the stuff, it might just be something he'd enjoy.
