Broken,But Never Beaten...

The Reaent and crew are attempting to recover from the last attack from the Raptors during which a torpedo even breached the bridge and thankfully kept going through and not detonating there. I had just managed to roll under the helm console before the bridge literally seemed to explode,V'Roy and myself clambered out from under the mass after the assault had ended to find both CO and Xo out of commission.

 

With the temporary commander on the bridge we are trying to pick up the pieces and find out just how damaged we are,apparently from the reports coming in we are as a whole in pretty bad shape,force fields are in place and seem to be holding..for now. It is unclear where adversaries are at this moment,last info was there were three of those Raptors joining the fray ...like sharks in a feeding frenzy.

 

I had been foolish,my thoughts clouded with the immediate concerns when it hit me like a ton of gpl,the attacking ships were automated,their very name recalled long gone memories at the advanced fighter tactical school so long past. As part of that training we studied numerous star craft from different races,the Raptor had been used in a brief and apparently unsuccessful encounter with the federation in the early years by the Romulan star empire..the original encounter was with the NX class .

 

I immediately got with our ops Mr.Pneuma,while that was going on I related the info to my fellow pilot V'Roy when our flight group leader Zafira made it to the bridge,I related my hunch to he as well..It had taken some time,however Pneuma managed to retrieve the data I had requested..or at least part of it,as was the case. There it was data of the last known encounter with the Raptor,it was controlled remotely from Romulus by an enhanced system using a telepath,or someone with latent psych talents apparently the signal had been boosted to cross certain distances and control the ship.

 

There was one detail that almost at once drew my attention,the vessel had as part of the ships system,emitters imbedded into the hull thus allowing it to visually change the original configuration,not unlike the present day holographic imaging systems in our holo decks,that may explain the appearance of an old NX class ship out here in the middle of nowhere. There was more,it was loaded to the brim with offensive/defensive systems since it had no crew there was no need for supporting any life..a true killing machine pure and simple,it as well explains the lack of comm between us,and the non hesitating attack on the Reaent.

 

It is my thought it may be controlled from that planet we recently left from,that might explain the remote control in my theory,we are way to far from the borders of the star empire, and even further from Roulus for them to be controlled from there. At any rate I think we may have a way and means to turn the tide of battle to our favor,at least give the Gracious lady the chance to survive.

 

The bridge is a swarm of techs.,medical personnel,the rest of us are going over the details of this theory ..each adding constructive input,however it will require the use of a crewman with the psych talent to participate,Pneuma seems to believe that with the help of an engineer ,and medical,we may be enabled to construct a similar device to override the remote transmissions from whom ever is controlling them at this time..I agree,of course should my primary pick of V'Roy as a candidate be unrealistic...there are two more I am aware of on the ship that do have those latent abilities.

 

All we can do now is work together in unison towards a common objective,that being the very survival of this Grand ship,and the crew that faithfully serves her. I can only hope and pray this theory of mine works,I have reflected on our past exploits and the losses we have taken..at times it can boggle the mind. I do not desire to be a dark blemish on the record of this ship and valiant crew,so many before us and who knows how many more will be lost. I must stop the negative thoughts and reflections and get back to the more urgent issues at hand.

Well little one here we go again I find my thoughts of her coming to mind while going over the data on Pneumas screen,looking around at the shattered remnants of a once sleek and clean in bristol fashion bridge.....: Computer End Log:...Beep !
